Arsenal On Christmas Day

Merry Christmas to you all. As we gorge ourselves on the spirit of the season, to those passing in search of respite, a dip into the club’s past and the last match played at Highbury on Christmas Day, a single goal victory over Chelsea in 1954. The report is under the heading, ‘Romantics v Realists‘.

For those who are interested in the historical aspect of the club, I can heartily recommend ArsenalOneTwoFive.

Merry Christmas to you all.

’til Tomorrow.

  1. Happy Christmas to you all!!

    First? About time!

  2. Merry Christmas one and all. He’s to a happy, healthy, prosperous and points laden 2012……

  3. Happy xmas 2 everyone and prosperous 2012. I declare 2012 as the yr of GUNNERS. I wsh ALL injured players a QUICK RECOVERY.

  4. Merry Xmas fellow Gooners n Goonetes! Well we have reached the business end of the season. This is the period of the season when Championships are won or lost. When the better sides find a new gear or fall away. When managers n coaches prove their worth. The past six years Arsenal never found the RESOLVE to put in a credible performance plus the team burnt out inches from the finishing line. What do we know for sure?

Arsenal is simply three quality players away from being an unbeatable side. Question: would Wenger n Arsenal buy quality or be prudent? Can this current side raise their game?

  5. merry christmas YW.and to all aclfers.

  6. Seasons greetings to all the ACLFers worldwide.

  7. Merry Christmas to YW and to (nearly) all ALCFers. This is the only wholly sane blog in a largely insane footballing world.

AW and the coaching staff will be assessing TH14’s fitness. If we sign him on loan, I’m sure that he will be able to make a contribution during the loan period.

    Up the arse.

  8. Merry Christmas one and all.

It’s probably made up of reshaped and recovered turkey meat from carcassses, MD.

Terrible news about the multiple bombings in northern Nigeria. I’m in Kaduna at the moment and it’s terrible, living with a sense of insecurity. The last bombing here 3 weeks ago was less than 200m from my house. Whatever their agenda is, there is no justification for killing people. May the souls of the departed rest and peace.

  28. Spy – Belfast has always been one of my favorite cities, glad you are enjoying it 🙂 I have had the pleasure of ‘walking the golden mile’ many a time!!

Naila Gooner – My thoughts and prayers go out to those who lost their lives this day and of course their families. Peace truly is the greatest present this time of year.

  29. Merry Christmas to all you Gooners.
Thanks for a great blog Yogi.

  30. tateezee, used to live in jos, though i stay in accra now and i know how you felt the day it happened in kd because i have also felt the vibrations of a bomb and seen the carnage it causes from exactly this time last year.peace bro, whatever happens we will survive this bh mess.thanks irish, really appreciate.

  31. Merry christmas from the French alps to ACLFers!

  32. BREAKING NEWS!!!!!

Police in Maryland have announced that they are looking for a serial food-poisonist, last seen fleeing on foot in a northerly direction. Descriptions of the culinary criminal point to someone of average height and build but with a noticable paunch, dressed in matching red and white hat and top. However, police are at pains to stress that they are not looking for Santa Claus, as the suspect’s somewhat seasonal get-up apparently bore the words “Fly Emirates” emblazoned across his chest. At present, a total of 17 people have been admitted with serious abdominal cramps, nausea, vomiting and fever.

Detectives at the scene of the crime have gone on record as stating that they have recovered what appear to be the remains of several half-eaten pasties, which they believe to be the main cause of the food poisoning.

  33. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all at ACLF and the wider Goonerverse!
