Summer Fun: The Musical Starring Cole, Gorcuff and Cesc

Gooooooooooooooooooooood morning Arsenal-land! Yep, Bank Holiday here so we have to make our own entertainment as the media has singularly failed to do so this morning.  Curse them for this is the joy of summer, to laugh at the stories, wonder whether there is an element of truth and generally relax. Well, those who take the column inches with a healthy dose of cynicism will; those that don’t have an uncomfortable three months ahead.

That’s not to say that there is nothing to talk of. The Daily Heil reckons that the Daily Star story yesterday about Joe Cole was worth copying. You can sense the air seeping from the latex as it crumples into a dishevelled mess when wage demands of £120k per week are mentioned. And yet, if you recall, Sol’s first temptation was covered with £95k per week so…just keep the salt cellar close by for the moment.

The Sun reckon that Yoann Gorcuff has been lined up for Cesc duties when Barcelona get their man. The fee? £21.5m or €25,296,500. Which is a weird amount that makes the story a little less plausible. Which is the same implausibility that the ‘Arsenal Source‘ should be viewed with but hey, who are we to doubt the veracity of this story.

Competition for summer targets is fierce, Rodellega has the choice of Champions or Europa League football as Martin O’Neill gets Randy and flashes his cash. Bordeaux stand to make around €600k more if they accept the Manchester City bid – noted next to the Arsenal story – and Gorcuff considerably more in wages but the stark choice remains: Champions or Europa League football next season?

Cesc is apparently on the market for £80m but Arsenal know they are only going to get £45m according to The Sun Says So It Must Be True. Little wonder Barcelona think the deal will be done quickly. Of course, the fly in the ointment is that Arsenal would probably have banked the cash already were this the case, given that it is only £5m more than Laporta is willing to pay.

How we could have done with such reporting thirty five years ago when Terry Neill was trying to sign Johan Cruyff. Who knows how the dreary mid-70s might have turned out. I wonder what the Dutchman would have made of Terry Mancini?  Well, aside from a complete arse in training every day.

And on that thought we enter the interval.

’til Tomorrow.

  1. I really hope that arsenal conclude their transfer dealing asap so that we can we can know how is with or not with us and plan ahead for the season. I really do hope that this time around we see more people brought in to add needed depth to the Squad

  2. @Yogi’s Warrior strange, I was first when I posted my comment. Then I refreshed and your comment replaced mine as first.. weird :S

  3. Good one YW. Treated the press with the contempt they deserve.

I’ve just seen the most ludicrous headline:

“Barcelona’s interest in Fabregas scuppers move for Liverpool’s Macherano.”

This means that that the hacks writing this one (imscouting.com) are not even aware of the timeline.

The Joe Cole story is a farce. He is supposedly wanted by Spurs, Man U and us. Not a single quote.

  4. You’ve been done bigbrovar ! Ha ha.

  5. @Muppet I am still first YW’s comment doesn’t count :P

  6. Muppet

I doubt Cole is a realistic target but Wenger likes him so the leap is easy to make. And, more to the point, it’s probably been done to drag a genuine bid for him into the public domain to give them something to really get their teeth into.

Noticeably, his contract talks have stalled. I’m sure that it is purely coincidental that 90% of those we are linked with end up signing new deals.

    YW

  7. Oh that’s nice Big Brovar. Thanks.

  8. top 10

  9. YESSSSS!! 10th lol. Personal best!!

Do we need Cole? Experience wise…yes but really can’t see him in AW’s plans.

  10. Oh crap. Me an my two finger typing. Well in Wambuizzi

  11. I suspect the buy out clause in Gorcuff’s contract is 25 million Euros and that converts into that ‘not very round’ sterling figure- just a guess.

I must admit I find it hard not to follow the rumours but we all know that we’ll sign approx. 4 players and be linked to well over 100. That being said, Gourcuff could be a great fit.

Let’s sort out the spine of the team now and then we can start looking forward rather than be chasing the latest rumour.

    Come on you Reds!

  12. Ha ha clgooner!

I would take Cole if we are loosing Cesc, Merida,Vela possibly Eduardo

  13. YW,

Yes. Usual naughty tactics by Mr 20%.

  14. 1????????????????????

  15. The fact Mourinho is in for fabregas is a good thing.

Perez will be ready to give a big offer which will force Barca to either pay a shit load of money or get the fuck off.

And if Real wins the bid I don’t think cesc would sign there as he would be hunted by angry catalans so either way is good for us.

I suspect the Marcherano deal is more important for Barca as yaya wants out after a bust up with guardiola over his playing time so for me there is more chance to have cesc next year in arsenal than not!

    Bob
I agree with you the clause must be about 25M Euro for gourcuff which could be a good replacement as Gourcuff and Chamack had a great understanding in the last 2 seasons.

But the main thing for me is that I want to know who will be our defenders next season!
The deal needs to be made soon as after the world cup players price will increase and the sooner we know who will partner TV the better!

  16. Muppet

A day for naughty tactics as I’m sure Big Brovar will confirm…

    YW

  17. Well done YW! Hopefully Wenger and Gazooner can take a page out of your book and hoodwink our rivals into signing the very best for peanuts this summer!

  18. I think Eddy will finish his career at Arsenal Wambuizzi. It’s only a matter of time before he gets his confidence back. And plus, we need Eddy to help Ramsey though his long road to recovery…if Eddy can help in anyway.

  19. Flint McCullough

If bigbrovar can substantiate his very serious claim of Comment Order Tampering by YW there should be a full & pervasive judicial enquiry.

We must have “fit & proper” people running AFC blogs.

However should this turn out to be spurious complaint from bigbrovar he/she should be automatically demoted to 20th comment for 6 months & made to clean Lady Nina’s stable twice daily for the same period.

  20. Let what come may. wenger is the answer

  21. Sorry, did not realise the new post was up, so reposting here.

As it is every year, not much is happening during the summer. Seems to me that the last few weeks have become a little dull round here with people not having much to discuss about other than transfer speculations. The debates on whether we need a new goalkeeper, whether we need “English grit”, whether we failed as a defensive unit or as individual defenders, the slanging matches with wind up merchants coming here asking for 10 new players or a new manager have been done to death so that many of the regulars here would know by heart what various parties will have to say on these debates.

With this backdrop, can we also have a section on the coming world cup so that we for a change have some real football to discuss about rather then conjectures and speculations? I am sure all of us will be following the world cup is some capacity. I know this is an Arsenal blog, but just wanted to put in a suggestion

  22. RvP is training with Oranje again today.

  23. Yes, it is pretty cear that the ice packs were just a precautionery measure. Just goes to show how inadequate the English papers are in their research.

  24. @Flint 10.16. Ha ha. Corruption in high places.

  25. Paulie Walnuts

Summer fun indeed. Those barracudas in the press are struggling for stories.

It will be interesting to see who AW loans out next season. I`d imagine Wilshere & Eastmond will stay with the first team squad but maybe the likes of Bartley, JET, Barazite & Lansbury could get premiership loans similar to little Jack at Bolton.

  26. A high ranking official has reviewed the evidence and finds that no evidence of comment tampering.

Yes, that’s right dear, the used fivers are in your handbag. Hold on a mo, where’s that come from?

No, the handbag? Oh, it’s been in the wardrobe for ages…

    YW

  27. A whitewash ? Well I never.

  28. Flint McCullough

Not so sure you can be too flippant on this one, YW.

I have heard that bigbrovar is the head AFC blog monitor for the newly formed BNP/SWP Coalition First Comments Commission.

  29. Flint,

I’ve asked an MP to head up a further commission to review the decision of the original commission. Very reasonable cost – they have only asked for expenses…

    YW

  30. Flint/Yw

Made to clean stables twice a day? Sounds a load of shit to me.

  31. Joe Cole makes sense. I like him.

    But Cesc Fabregas

  32. Flint McCullough

It is still in the balance, Gooneraside, bigrovar has access to offshore founds to pay bigger expenses than YW.

We know how these MPs like brown paper bags.

  33. Bigbrovar must be nursing his wounds.

  34. Gourcouff would be a great replacement for Cesc, excellent skill, vision and he’s a bit more physical than Cesc IMO. He can be a bit lazy sometimes in defense but then again Cesc isn’t exactly a defensive beast either. Joe cole could be a good pick up on a free, but i’d rather Arsene sorted out the defense first before we make any more offensive signings (unless ofcourse Cesc leaves, then we need to act quick in finding a replacement).

  35. Joe Cole in replace of Cesc…. can’t see Cole being our solution in CM, and becoming our playmaker if Cesc is to leave. As good as some may rate him, he ain’t nowhere near the class of Cesc.

Cesc hasn’t gone anywhere anyway, so lets just wait and see, could be just Cole’s agent trying to force a new deal… or attract attention elsewhere. 120k a week is another factor of which I think Wenger wouldn’t consider him, he ain’t worth it.

  36. If the tabloids are to be believed Cesc earns 110k at our place — while Cole demands about 100k. So alone on that basis, I don’t think that Cole is a realistic target. He is not good enough to come in and become our second best paid player instantly.

  37. cole is too stupid to play for arsenal he just wouldn’t fit in personality wise and wenger always normally takes such care with matching characters. I would be surprised if it happens but not too displeased.

Wenger does like a deal and we could always sell him off again in a year for 10-15m. He could be this years L.diarra.

  38. looking forward to mourinho sticking his thumb up barcas arse. Barca dont have the same financial muscle as real and he is playing to their weaknesses (arrogance, sense of superiority) by disrespecting them. He could very useful to us too push up the price of cesc as if we get a firm offer from real we can simply tell barca to match it. He could also force their hand to make some other transfers further reducing their kitty. Man city need to fuck off with any big bids for ibra or yaya though…

  39. I hear a lot of gooners saying they hope Real Madrid sticks it to Barca. That’s the one club even more odious than Barca…..

  40. Ole I agree Real and Barca are the same bunch of scumbags regarding tapping up players.

But if they can fuck up Barca’s bid to sign cesc I have just one thing to say:

Stick them up nice and proper!

  41. What is interesting is that Wenger has remained scrupulously loyal to Cesc throughout, the first and major thing Cesc has acknowledged.

Makes me kind of proud …

Aslong as principles remain intact, we hold our heads high.

  42. Joe Cole would be an unusual signing in several respects. I doubt it …

  43. I suspect Clichy is a potential future long term captain in a few years. I admire his attitude.

  44. What the hell is the use of getting Cole if we don’t have a new goalie and central defender?

  45. Real are just as despicable as Barca.. but they havn’t annoyed us as much as Barca has in the last few seasons. They have been tapping up our players in one form or another non-stop for the last 5 years. It’s not just Henry and Hleb,. players like Eboue and Clichy may have also been approached by a Barca representative .. then theres Arshavin, another who could have been approached.. I don’t know about anyone else, but it just seems as if our players agents are on constant flights back and forward to Barcelona.

I just cannot see how they will be stirring so much shi* on our players (like Cesc now) without actually speaking with the player first to find out if hes interested. I hope Real makes a bid for Cesc, if he does actually want to leave, then I hope City makes a bid, then I will just laugh. I will be laughing at Cesc and Barcelona, as much as I would still love the guy, our captain, one of Wenger’s finest products.. I can’t say I can hold the respect he deserves if he decides to leave. Especially for them Spanish wan*ers.

So its best really for them all to outbid eachother, get a maximum fee, while Barca will be the laughing stock of Europe.

  46. ZimPaul

I cannot help but wonder if Cesc has approached Wenger about Barcelona previously. If he does leave I reckon the transfer would have been planned, I don’t see how Cesc could spring this on Wenger, Arsenal, and himself just a few weeks before the World Cup.

It don’t make sense from a professional point of view.

  47. cesc will only go to barca but the point is that as soon as we get another offer we can demand barca get as close to that as possible. 35m can fuck right off.

Jose knows barca would be one hell of a spanish force with cesc and torres on the wish list. He will push barcas buttons and try his best to destablise them.

The thing with barca is that they see us as a feeder club. Yaya was quoted the other day when asked about arsenal saying ‘why would I go back to school when I am already at university?’. That is the kind of philosophy they promote there. At least Jose respects (to a degree) how well we are run considering the difficulty of the english league.

  48. I think he has sprung it which is why arsene is so upset

  49. I agree with word, it can’t have been planned because otherwise wenger would never had let him kiss the badge only to say at the end of the year: Well know that I have been a complete hippocrite, I am leaving!
Arsene should never had accepted he returned to Barcelona to get treatment that’s where it fucked us up!

Being everyday with his mates messi and pique who must have ask him daily when he was going to join them.

Let’s just hope that they offer a ridiculous small amount of money so that cesc is offended and tell them toi fuck off.

  50. gunnerluc

7 years at Arsenal, a burning desire to win a trophy at the Emirates, breaks his leg scoring a penalty, captain of a fantastic club, and eternal gratitude to Wenger…

This is a guy that decides over night to leave? In my opinion mate, he ain’t going, doesn’t matter who is nagging at you. If he goes, I’ll admit to it, I just think hes not the kind of person to just pack his bags and leave without ending his Arsenal career on a high unless it was planned. He knows how much Henry, Pires, Vieira, Bergkamp etc mean to the club and fans.. He wants to be a part of that and not a failure.

  51. mind reading is a dark art but at least we know arsene has enough emotional leverage to make him stay one more year at least. If we have a blinder which I think we will then we will see then…. oh dear im getting dragged into this again.

still bloody 12 days till the WC!

  52. I personally believe that Cesc has one foot outside Arsenal at the moment (would love it if I am proved wrong), hence any interest from Real is a good thing for me. If cesc does not play for Arsenal I hardly care who he plays for as long as we get the best price.

  53. allowed arshavin,to exit.and,gorffs in.

  54. @YW History would absorb me ™

  55. ChrisGonna

What you stated is the reason why I’m torn apart.

I love fabregas, this guy has been so great for us and I believed he was a gentleman and that he would be Arsenal proud captain for a few more years.
I wish we could keep him that is why I’ve stated that I hope Real gets in the business and push Barcelona to show their cards.

I don’t think Barselona wants or can pay the right fee for him, that is why they haven’t sent an offer because they don’t want that figure to go in the press and show cesc that they don’t value him as much as villa or Ibra.

That’s why they are playing this bullshitt tactics so that cesc says to Arsene that he wants to leave forcing him to sell because he can’t realistically keep a player that don’t want to play for you.

Like I said I believe Fabregas is a good guy that is why I can’t see him kissing the badge knowing he said to wenger that he’s gone in the summer.

He also would have had a proper good bye at the Emirates.

For me there is only two explanation:
This story is complete bullshit, and the press and Barca are testing him.

Or he made his mind in the last moment by being in Barcelona to heal his injury or during his time with the National Team.

  56. Cole will be a great signing. He’ll bring maturity, winning mentality and craft on the field. Cole, Cesc, RvP and Arshavin together will be a winning formula. He’s also English and will make North London fans happy.

Too many foreign players killing the soul of the club.

AW get Cole and sell the crocks; Rosicknote, Eduardo, Traore, Denilson, Vela and one of Almunia and Fabianski.

  57. gunnerluc

Or he made his mind in the last moment by being in Barcelona to heal his injury or during his time with the National Team

I just can’t come to terms with Cesc deciding like this. Theres more to the story than we are lead to believe, or its just Barcelona causing trouble. If he did just decide end of the season to leave, then he ain’t the man I thought he was, and many of his fans thought he was. In that case its best the club prostitutes him to the likes of City and Real.

I can understand why it seems like Cesc got converted by Barca and the Spanish press. It even mystifies me why our players are allowed to receive treatment in their home countries… Henry, Pires, Bergamp.. all doing it too. Cesc being in Spain in that period got the whole speculation rolling, on top of us playing them, and him around the Spanish squad, it just went into overdrive.

  58. If he is the man we believe he is, I cannot see him kiss the badge knowing he is going to leave.

That is why I cannot untangle the truth from the press bullshit. Every way I look at the situation it doesn’t add up

  59. AFC Winner

Too many foreign players killing the soul of the club.

So the likes of Bergkamp, Henry, Pires have been a complete disgrace and have killed our soul? Ohh you mean we need more players who are valued at 50m for being English and out on the piss every weekend like Terry, Cole and Rooney!? I’d take the likes of Cesc and Bergkamp anyday over MOST the English players thank you very much. And, Theo seems to be an exception, its why hes at Arsenal. Lets hope the rest of the promising English talent carries on the kind of behaviour like that many of the foreign players under Wenger.

  60. gunnerluc

It don’t make sense to me either, its why I believe there is more to all the speculation or its just all bullshit. I hope its all bullshit.

Whatever way it turns out, and with or without Cesc, we will carry on. We don’t rely on 1 player like many believe.

  61. If he leaves it could even have a good effect on the players who will want to show him it’s a big mistake to leave Arsenal.

They don’t seem to ever understand that they will never be better off after they leave.

To have players like Pires, Viera, Henry, Hleb, Lundberg, Dennis, RVP,…. saying that Arsenal is a special club and saying to other star players to go play there and not to leave it should make the wonder a little bit.

Cesc will be hit hard by his change of status if he goes to Barca. I lived in Spain and the press is ruthless with players much more than in England where the pressure is already really high.
If he doesn’t start performing straight away he will be destroyed in no time.

Look at the example of Dos Santos and Bojan who where hailed as the next wonderkid from la masia and after one or two bad performances they have been buried by the press and forgotten by Barcelona! Pedro will suffer the same fate, he will go from the next wonderkid to the latest reject in no time.

Henry and Ibra can also give a testimony how fast it goes in spain. One moment you are a star performer that is the heart of the team and next you are just fit to keep the bench warm.

Ibra started as the star signing, achieving the record to be the best goalscoring new recruit to a piece of meat only worth throwing to the hungry man shitty like Real did for Robinho!

  62. ChrisGoona

Are you talking about the prostitutes? The players who come here, get treated or improve their game and run off? Bischoff, Merida, Adebayor, Cesc and possibly, Denilson, Vela and Traore?

I’ll take Cole on free at 100k and free Rosicknote, Eduardo, Vela, Denilson and Diaby for them to go back where they came from. They’re contributing nothing materially to the team even though commanding huge wages. We’re just wasting money on these average foreigner players with no bottle.

  63. f*ck off howard.

  64. AFC winner

You are talking such bullshit, cole might be a good player but I would rather keep Diaby, Rosicky and Denilson.
I can’t wait for the season to start so they can shut your mouth with great performance!
I bet you were one of the Eboue hater who are now saying he so great!

You are nothing else than a clown who believe what all the so called “football expert” are selling as analysis.

Wenger know and thank god he’s the manager and not you or all the so called fan who spend their time dissing the players!

  65. gunnerluc

I don’t rate Eboue. You do. He’s another waste of space and funds. Rosicky, Edu, Denilson, Almunia, Fabianski are all in the same group with him.

They’re not fit to wear the shirt. They’ve made Arsenal mediocre and destroyed its spirit.

  66. bigbrovar:

Keep the faith brother. Keep posting.

You will be teased, derided, and called names. You will be told you post the same thing over and over again. Some will say that they do not want to be bigbrovar-like as if that was an insult. I feel the pain that you feel. However, in the end they will come to understand that you are one of the few with true wisdom.

  67. GunnerSince!WasAGlintInTheMilkman'sEye

    AFC Winner;

    You’re a cunt.

  68. “Cescgate” reminds me of Nikita Khruschev. The bumbling soviet leader said that if you keep shouting revolution and nothing happens the people will eventually tell you to go to hell! Wenger has been telling Cesc about the Arsenal revolution for the last five and nothing has happened yet. Maybe he is telling us “GO TO HELL!”

  69. AFC winner

    Oh you are right!
Let’s kick out all those bloody foreigners from the club, give back all the trophies Arsene won because it was just with a bunch of stupid foreigners.

You are such a morron it ‘s just a waste of time to try have a discussion with you, let’s vote the BNP into 10 downing street, close the border and kick out all the foreigners out of the country coz there the one fucking up the economy! Let live just between brits and become inbreds!
Well from what you are saying it seems already the case!

  70. YW:

I posted this on a different computer I get a sort of strange smiley face instead of the grumpy one I usually get. Cool.

Is there a whole bunch of little faces or images that are used? Can I pick out my own or am I forever left with the grumpy face that I usually get?

  71. LimparAssist

One ‘doomer’ argument I find particularly grotesque is the one that uses our excellent disciplinary record as a stick to beat the team with.

Prize twat SUGA3 drags it out of his tired old sack on occasion. It goes a little something like this…

“Back when we had big hard ugly bastards like Paddy V and Keown noone would fuck with us. We just kicked the shit out of everyone and that’s why we won. Our disciplinary record was awful. Everyone got sent off and noone gave a single shit. I fucking loved it. Now we’re just a bunch of gays and everyone pushes Denilson onto his arse. It’s Arsene Wenger’s fault, nice guys finish last – simple as. End of. Case closed. lol winky face blah blah I’m a wanker etc etc”.

For a so-called fan who has seen his team suffer so badly from wreckless tackles in recent years… and a fan of a team at the very cutting edge of football in so many ways… not to celebrate our excellent achievements in this area is very poor. If half the teams in the league played with an Arsenal level of discipline it would be a far better league to watch. More fluid, less stop/start, less injuries, faster, fairer etc etc.

Franz Beckenbauer, who spent a very long and very successful career dispossessing forwards just in front of his centrebacks was never once sent from the pitch for foul play. He won the World Cup playing fairly.

John Charles, a Welsh centreback who was voted ‘greatest ever foreign player in Serie A’ ahead of Maradona, Platini, Van Basten and Zidane, was never once cautioned, let alone sent off. He won the Serie A title with Juventus three times.

Bobby Moore is another with an impeccable disciplinary record. Pele called him ‘the fairest defender he ever played against’. I need not mention what he won.

Nice guys don’t always finish last. Fair players are rightly held in the highest regard by peers, fans, and in the pantheon of football history.

Arsenal play the game fairly and it’s something to be proud of.

  72. Emperor Gooner

i was dreading today like anything because of all the mourinho bullcrap that was bound to follow after his press conference…..the guy is a good coach fine but he’s an arrogant c*nt too..just look at his statements…almost everything he says is only about himself but he masks it in a way that it sounds like he’s a team guy….what a shame!!

i can’t wait to see him be an absolute failure at madrid when they go trophyless this season and he gets the axe..really really cant wait!!

  73. @ Emperor Gooner – I would rather he won their League & Domestic Cup at a canter. But got sacked for losing the CL finals against us.

  74. I am not privy to any inside information, and I doubt anyone here is either.I take the view that no one player is bigger than the club, and if cesc wants to go back to his roots, one can fully understand that.If we had won the title or the CL I doubt the situation would be any different.

At the beginning of the season, RVP stalled on signing an extension to his contract(so we are led to be believed)and the theory came out then as it is again with cesc, that we needed more experienced quality world class players in the side to make him stay.

I don’t believe much money was available and some believe that Wenger was adamant that the club should first and foremost be financially stable. Who told him that ? The board run the club not Wenger, so i believe he was working under instructions, and that was the right move IMO.

The World is in the worst recession for 70 years and yet footballers demands in monetary terms are forever increasing. The two don’t go together.

barcelona hasn’t got such a great winter climate, a new wealth tax has been introduced for high earners and the equivalent of VAT is going up from 16% to 18% tomorrow.basic tax has also increased, so as far as cesc is concerned money cannot be the main factor.

With regards to being captain, I don’t rate him as one of our stand out leaders in the last few decades. In fact I think he was only made captain by Wenger to appease him, and possibly he knew that the ineviatable would happen sooner than later with cesc.

Again i repeat none of ushave inside knowledge, but if he were to go,i would rather it was now than next season.his value will not change before or after the World Cup. All we can do is wait and see, but in any case i would give the armband to vermaelen.

  75. This is the team I want next season:

    Hart/Frey
Van der Wiel Cahill Subotic Lahm
    YaYa Melo
    Gourcuff
    Rodallega Raul J.Cole

    Subs:
    Schwarzer
    Chivu
    Taylor
    Diakhate
    SWP
    Ireland
    Huntelaar
    Alves

(Wilshere to be sold to Bolton to return the Cahill favour)

  76. Sorry, Muppet. We’ll never win anything if we include all those foreigners.

  77. Fuck me kelsey, after reading your post I’m going to up my dose.

  78. Wake up and smell the coffee merlot.

  79. What is wrong with these idiots who post with different IDs but use the same content.

@Bill, if you go to gravatar.com and register you can upload one of your own images to use as an avatar.

  80. Just being a realist.

  81. @ dupsffokcuf:

Thanks I will check it out.

  82. brilliant muppet, why has no one done that before! :)

  83. Are you being funny word ? Yellow card to you mate. You must be an AKB.

Any more funny stuff and you will be put in moderation.

  84. @Muppet
Great team, but it lack’s some grit. The defense looks soft. You should add somebody of Shawcross’ calibre to make sure this team has got the physical presence of winners.

  85. GunnerSince!WasAGlintInTheMilkman'sEye

    Muppet

I think playing 2 keepers is a master stroke and could be the difference between us winning a trophy or not next season.

  86. That’s the clincher. Yes.. 2 goalkeepers in goal.

  87. Sorry.. and Shawcross in the midfield. Real cutting edge.

  88. Is there room in the team for a gritty player like Martin Taylor?

  89. Martin Taylor … bring him on

    True grit.

  90. If AW can’t work with these ‘proper premier league’ players can I suggest we swiftly remove him and bring in a manager that knows how to get the best out of players….Phil Brown. Fortunately for us I think he is currently available.

  91. Phil Brown – that would be a fucking coup.

  92. *

  93. Interesting.

  94. Very interesting.

  95. Did you see my earlier comment disappear too, Muppet?

  96. Mossad, right? Can’t be YW.

  97. That must have been somebody from WordPress.

Perhaps on the basis of not stirring things up.

There is a lot of tension out there, especially I would imagine in London.

  98. Interesting. I’d imagine a good way to stir things up would be to use firearms against civilians. Not through blogs. Strange. What happened to freedom of speech. Oh well.

Can WordPress get rid of the doomers with such ease too? Imagine James or Howard, posting comments after comments, and they vanishing into thin air. A dreadful nightmare for them.

  99. agree with muppet 500 M spend on grit will be enough

    James
