I have had belief since the first day of the season
Thus spake Arsene following the win at Molineux at the weekend. Nothing unusual in his words, a manager that does not believe in his players is in deep trouble.
Wenger though has more reason than any other, with the possible exception of Carlo Ancelotti, to be satisfied with the opening quarter of this campaign. His squad has defied critics from within and without, to produce the most consistent attacking formula on display.
Defeating Wolves is in itself nothing out of the ordinary. If a team is to win the Premier League, losing fixtures at places like Molineux is unthinkable. Mentally that was a hurdle which needed to be overcome, which to date has successfully been negotiated. It ought to have brought about less nervousness when these fixtures appear – a regular occurrence since most of the teams are below us in the league – yet there is still some trepidation. A bit more confidence ought to show through, balancing against arrogance.
The climb to second has been largely under the media radar, preoccupation with Liverpool, United and Chelsea to Arsenal’s advantage. We now witness the unctuous manoueverings of hacks is now taking place, the mantra of ‘we never wrote them off‘ becoming more prevalent. A certain delight can be taken from that on the part of supporters but now the pressure will be cranked up on the players, particularly with the upcoming visit to Stamford Bridge.
Cesc offered a suitable note of caution about the attack:
We do worry about the goals coming to an end. We talk about what will happen if they stop. It is great when we are scoring so many goals and we have a threat all over the team, but we know that we have to keep that right the way through.
There is no point scoring goals like we are until December and then it ends. That will not win the title. So the fear that the run will come to an end is keeping us focused because we want to win the title and we know we have to carry on.
Whatever it takes to keep the players focussed is key. Fear of failure is not a problem unless it becomes restrictive. However, the confidence that is being bred in their play shows no sign of that happening. Arsene will earn his corn in this respect and knows it:
I hope to keep convincing the players they could have a interesting part to play in the championship. The most important thing is to play for each other and keep your belief. In this job there is never enough belief.
Absolutely, key to it will be getting the players to concentrate on the match at Sunderland once they return from internationals. Wenger though is convinced that they are ready for any adversity which might be around the corner:
I believe something that is very important is that we have built the team together for a few years. I feel we have learned a lot. Many of the players who played two years ago are in the squad today. That’s why I am really happy when we play as a real team.
Which is why the media underestimated the players from the start of the season. Paul Hayward offered the opinion that this is the last season when the players can be considered young. I don’t think he is wrong entirely in that assertion, if he intended the word ‘young’ as a euphemism for inexperienced. Even then, it is pushing the point a little since most of the squad are already beyond 100 appearances. Adversity in those matches is worth more than a dozen easy victories.
’til Tomorrow.

Looking forward to the Chelsea game (how often does anyone say that?) I reckon they offer the ultimate antidote to the total football we play. Look how close they pushed Barca last season for example.
Big, muscular, experienced ugly bunch of bastards against whom to pit our beautiful, intelligent, youthful and skill rich artistry.

Ugly is a word that comes to mind when I think of the brut force you describe as Chelsea. Somehow me thinks that RVP, Rosicky, Arshavin and Fabregas will enjoy unleashing their artistry on the thug life “we’re well ‘ard” Chelsea mentality.

Flechter is complaining about being harshly treated by referees. Not because he’s a dirty player, no but because Arsene Wenger is influencing referees. Hahaha. Shut up you dirty Manc!
Yesterday Flechter was one of the players who committed the most fouls but he wasn’t carded even once. Like during our match at old trashford he could get away with murder. So conceding a goal, the match winning goal, from a free kick Fletcher was responsible for is f*cking hilarious.

FLETCHER RUES WENGER COMMENTS
Fletcher told the Manchester Evening News: “It was clearly not a foul.
“I knew at the time and I have watched it again on the replay. I back-heeled the ball and Cole just jumps up in the air and the ref gives a foul.
“I think we are starting to see Mr Wenger’s comments starting to influence referees which is a shame really.
“Now we have to raise our game and ensure these decisions are not affecting the game.”

In any other topflight league that would have been given as a foul and noone would have complained because it happens all the time; not much contact, simueltaneously gets the ball, player goes down shouting ‘foulplay, sir’ (or senor, or monsieur etc.) – freekick is given.
Fletcher is a douche.

YW – You are a star. In contrast, several “Arsenal bloggers” are a disgrace to the club, especially to the manager who has always stood behind his players despite the naysayers who ripped him for putting faith in his young studs and letting go of those he considered not good enough. To cover up for their failure they snow try to deceive by doling out hypocritical praises with one hand and stabbing certain players in the back. Today’s scapegoat du jour is Diaby. It is apalling the number of bloggers who expressed pleasure that Diaby was injured and had to be substituted by Song. The irony is two years ago they wanted Song sold cause he wasn’t good enough. As usual they have absolutely no eye for talent as Diaby is
on course to be one of the most explosive offensive midfielders in the Prem. Fact is he was not the primary defensive midfielder in the formation on Saturday, Ramsey was. But then why let the facts get in the of a certain narrative.
I am so happy that most posters on this blog have seen through the false prophets and are beginning to rip these bloggers to shreds before their negativity damages the confidence of our fans.
…Keep the faith – we will win the championships.

The thing about our scoring run is that goals are coming from everywhere, the broadest base possible; how Wenger wanted it. It means when the odd player goes off form, others are all trying to score, all the time. Must be a little frightening to face 10 fluid players coming at you, trying to get into a scoring position, swopping positions, sending the ball left, right, probing the centre. Scoring is supremely a team pursuit at Arsenal.
I thought ManU and Chelsea were both awful yesterday; is that truly the ‘high point’ of EPL?

One thing I’ve consistently taken issue with AW for is going on and on about how young they are.
If you take our first 18 players, they’re not very young, and not by any means inexperienced.

“too weak physically?” many were saying RvP was to weak to lead the line at the start of this season..
Eduardo is the smartest striker in the league, the way he finds space and arches his runs is remarkable, similar to the way raul and inzagi have played and scored continuously for the past decade..
He is renowned for holding the ball up and leads the line well enough for Croatia, most notably he last scored against a pretty ‘ard England defence..

So RVP said in an interview: “But… I get the chance to play with the likes of Fabregas, Arshavin, Eduardo, Walcott, Nasri and Rosicky – great players who play a beautiful game.

Talking of dignified brazilians, close shaves, and defensive discipline, here’s an article.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/timvickery/2009/11/rise_of_brazilian_guard_dog.html
I always though Gilberto Silva played a pretty elegant game, so calling him a converted CB is a bit harsh. However, if most CB’s played like Arsenal’s, that’d be a compliment.
I still remember Denilson’s first few games for AFC, against the Tiny Totts in the CC, his tricks and flicks were awesome. I think, in time, Dunga’s comments in the above article will be seen to be redundant with players like Denilson and Song filling similar roles to GS, with more flair and skill, on the pitch. He may have won the World Cup playing in the D**Mers favourite position, D**M, but is Dunga demented?
Or just upset with Marcos Senna?

Shotta Gunna, I agree with you on your assessment of Diaby.
From my perspective, Diaby has enormous potential. Though, I don’t know if we have ever seen him properly fit except for this season. The fitness aspect is beginning to develop and one sees Diaby defending more than previously. His better fitness allowing him to get back and defend. But Diaby also has what might be described as a psychological preference to remain up field. By his own admission, Diaby confesses to preferring an attacking role. Once the defending aspects of his play develop, Diaby will be the complete player. He is slowly becoming a much more able tackler.

Who would thought that every one is so worried about Song going to the ACN?
That guy proved Wenger was right (As he mostly is) and a clear advise to everyone to leave assessing player’s potential to Wenger, no one else.

The win v Wolves was very satisfying as this is the type of game that we have struggled with in the past like Stoke last season for example. We rode our luck as 2 easy headers were put wide and then of course the own-goals but ManU have won many a title with wins just like this. The third goal was the highlight not only for the move and composed finish but the instant cushioned pass from Robin with his chocolate leg (foot). The pass was Berkampesque; it was that good and acknowledged by Cesc.
We still managed to concede the obligatory late goal but this is not much of a problem if there are 3 minutes to go and we are 4-0 up. It will be a problem in some games however, where we are not scoring 3 goals and the game is tight. Chelsea in a couple of weeks is going to be a good test.
I read somewhere that Vermaelen left the ball for Almunia which resulted in the Wolves goal. I didn’t see this but it would be interesting to note. I thought Almunia was poor in coming off his line in the first half; one was the header that Craddock should have scored from and there was another one from a corner that Manuel did not get to either. Almunia is a fantastic shot-stopper but he needs to improve his game when coming off his line, especially with two not-so-massive centre halves in front of him.
It great to see the progress that has been made since last season. The callowness that some of the team displayed last season has gone and this team seem more cohesive and focused than last year. We are the best team going forward in the league and maybe even Europe, the only question marks lie in defence where we have barely managed to keep a clean sheet all season despite the good form of Gallas and Vermaelen.

Hi Paul,
I took a break from the blog for a while; a mixture of being really busy and getting disillusioned with the game after the Eduardo witch-hunt. This was the first time in 120 years of football that the ref’s decision was not final.

It’s ridiculous, Eduardo will never have a penalty awarded for him. WHy can’t Artur Boruc stop being a prat and come out and say he touched him, or made contact. That incedent could effect many penalty decisions to come, and possibly points
it wont matter though, eddie is in good form and he’s supported and driven on by us, who don’t brush our teeth during a match

Diaby is still raw and needs more time. He is only 23 and has spent over a year out. He has great running power, his passing has improved, he can finish and is a great dribbler. Defensively he needs to improve a lot but give the guy a break. Not everyone can be world-class at 23 like Vieira or Cesc. The great Petit did not become a great midfielder until he was 27. Diaby has abilities that noone else in the squad has. Those who wanted him injured are a disgrace. The boy has had enough injuries.

France: Gallas, Sagna, Diaby. G & S likely to play both key qualifiers vs Ireland Sat and Weds. Injured Diaby called up (maybe not so badly injured) but unlikely to play. No call up for Nasri which is good (will be available for Sunderland)
Russia – Arshavin – Slovenia WC games Sat and Wed
Czech Republic – Rosicky – no game!
Poland – Szechny called up to the senior squad for Sat and Wed game! (first time call up)
Cameroon – Song – only one WC qualifier in Morocco Saturday
Spain – Cesc – Sat and Wed games (friendlies Argentina and Austria)
Holland – RvP – Sat and Wed games (friendlies)
Croatia – Eduardo – Sat friendly only
Ivory Coast – Eboue – Sat and Wed games
Belgium – Vermaellen Sat and Wed friendlies

thanks jbh-nice to have a quick reference guide.
Another good article, YW, but one of the hallmarks of Arsene’s reign has been his utmost faith in the team at all times. It’s what sets him apart from moaners like Fat Sam and Harry. They are either complaining about not having a deep enough squad or criticizing their players. I don’t see where his comments at the beginning of this season are greatly different from that of any other season.
Something that I haven’t seen on this site but I have seen on other’s is the perception that Arshavin isn’t well-liked because of the muted 4th goal celebration. I can’t see why they don’t understand that over the top celebrations when you go up 4-0 is actually pretty offfensive, and a low key response is more appropriate. From what I can see, Arshavin has a close relationship with Cesc, and an amicable one with his other teammates.
As for Diaby, even Arseblog commented that in the context of the game, it was a good thing for Diaby to get injured. As it’s been pointed out on here, one way or another we were going to end up breaking Wolves down. They couldn’t harry for 90 minutes at the breakneck speed they were in the first 20, and cracks were bound to open up. Song is a brilliant DM, and I’m sure it helped us, but I don’t see where the result would have been different.
Finally, Eduardo still seems a little rusty. He had a simple pass back to Ramsey on the 2nd goal, but delayed it in favor of a low percentage chip over Craddock. It ended in a lucky goal, but I think we’re far from seeing the best of Eduardo, and when he fires on all cylinders, he will be immense as the season progresses. Let’s just keep him playing and getting his touch back.

Arseblog has made some pretty detrimental statements and actions which have influenced a lot of our fickle supporters in a negative way (I think he has a good sense of humor though)..
Another view of the Eduardo chip was he took his time waiting for Ramsey to continue his run, he then chipped it across for him but it was deflected into goal..

I’ll look at the goal again, but I’m sure Eduardo could have quickly returned the pass to Ramsey and he would have been through against the keeper. It was just a point to say I think that we’ve still yet to see his best this season, and it will come.
On another note, how easy it is to forget the advantage Man U and Chelsea have. Has anyone mentioned recently Zoran Tosic and Adem Ljajic, who were signed for around $15,000,000. If Arsene had spent that money on them he would be getting crucified right now, but no-one brings it up with Man U.

Arseblog is poor at analysis of the game as his suggestion that an injury to one of our players is in any way, shape or form a ‘good’ thing.
He’s alright for a fan style rant or the odd humourous comment, but he is not a patch on YW for intelligent comment on the finer points of the game.
I do agree with you though that Eduardo is not yet back to his lethal best, but he still made a telling contribution in pressuring the defender into two mistakes that led to the opening goal.

*demonstrates, is the missing word at the end of the first sentence!
The turning point was the first goal – Wolves started chasing the game leaving gaps at the back, which we then exploited on the counter attack.

Didn’t mean to imply that Eduardo isn’t dangerous even short of top form. He’s still an asset at less than 100%.

I suppose RvP’s left leg is now his chocolate leg. He can keep his chocolate-leggedness to a minimum by scoring 2 goals each game, one with each leg.

Paul N @ 5:29 pm – “This young man (referring to Diaby) could possibly become the most difficult player to defend due to his combination of size, speed, skill.”
SPOT ON – There is nobody in the PL with his potential. He can become the offensive midfield force that Essien now is on the defensive side. He has skills and physical attributes that are simply ridiculous. Only the jackasses in the media, especially football365.com, and those so-called “Arsenal bloggers”could be so blind.

lagooner,
Arseblog was under the erroneous impression that Diaby was playing defensive midfield which he wasn’t.
You just have to wonder when a player (Diaby) is getting slated for a role he wasn’t playing.
It just shows why certain players will always get stick irrespective of their actual performances.
By: Ole Gunner on November 9, 2009

It’s especially telling that Ramsey universally got plaudits, yet he was the one playing hlding midfield which Diaby was getting stick for not playing.
By: Ole Gunner on November 9, 2009

Ole G…add to that, currently we don’t play with a pure DM player…even Song attacks but he may have more defensive duties than the other midfield players.
Diaby has more attacking duties than defensive ones.

By: zaparodje on November 9, 2009

O/G – Absolutely right re Ramsey. I just started reviewing the tapes of the first half and it shows Diaby on the left, Cesc on the right and Ramsey at the center in a holding position. But he was so keen to go upfield it affected the balance. E.g. at the 5th minute, Diaby got the ball under pressure on the left, twisted and turned back infield to lay off to the Ramsy, who by then had darted way upfield and the pass was almost picked off. I am not criticizing Ramsey as he is a talented young man who will go places. But the lambasting of Diaby is misplaced and unwarranted.
…Now don’t get me started on the campaign to denigrate and unsettle Almunia.
By: shotta-gunna on November 9, 2009

Ole G…if RVP continues not coming out for the high balls in his 18 yard box & Cesc continues to defend like this, you can kiss the title goodbye.

When Diaby came to Arsenal, Chelski, as was their way under Mourinho tried to hijack the move.
Diaby chose Arsenal. He’s having his first run in the team, 3 years after. He’s scoring, assisting, and winning the ball, giving us pace, power and physicality.
He’s a frustrating player sometimes. But the stick he’s getting is very disappointing.
Arsenal fans can be very disappointing sometimes.

Zapa,
At least with surgery a player has a set period out then rehab. I`d rather NB gets it out of the way than hang on & hope it clears naturally (like Torres / Gerrard) & end up playing at 50% – then have to have an op anyway.
Just a point on the Wolves goal on Saturday. Sometimes nobody is to blame. It looked like an excellent delivery & really good movement by Craddock.
By: Paulie Walnuts on November 9, 2009

I’m really glad to have Almunia back. Mannone did a sterling job as stand-in but Almunia is our senior goalkeeper and having him behind the defence instills an extra bit of confidence in the team and just makes us look that little bit more experienced on paper to the opposition. I think we’re a more daunting prospect with a bona fide, big game tested keeper fit in goal.
Ramsey definitely filled in for Song and did it brilliantly. The only thing I’d say is that I don’t think Diaby has ever been used in that role. He’s always been attacking mid, usually down the left, sometimes off a striker down the middle, a couple of times on the right. I don’t recall ever seeing him tried as an out and out holding midfielder. He looks like he might be good at it, granted, but as we’ve seen, the boy is a creative, he makes things happen going forward.

It will be interesting when Denilson comes back to see the midfield line up. Wenger is going to have a fantastic selection headache when he has to chose between Song, Denilson, Diaby, Cesc, Ramsey, Nasri & Rosicky.

@ Marc
It will be Denilson coming in when Song is away – Arsene said so explicitly in response to a direct question from the ATVO interviewer last week. He was also asked whether he saw Nasri in the holding position and he said that although Samir has the ability technically to play that role, his instincts were attacking – he was “attracted to the goal” and would be used in a more forward position.

Off topic I know, I thought it was sad that Dean Ashton has had to give up playing football at 25 through injuries. That’s why I have no time for leg breaking teams like brum. Already this season they have broken Luka Modric’s leg and damaged Theo’s knee. Given how short a professional footballers career is, it should not be acceptable for their fellow professionals to recklessly endanger them with ‘tackles’ which would be classed as GBH outside a football pitch.

Firstly Sunderland is an important game for Arsenal. To win in the north east against lesser teams has been Arsenal`s Waterloo many times before so if the title is to be won it`s this type of challenge that must be overcome.
On the general scene the whole of English football is in for a change within a couple of years. The clubs who have been living in a fools paradise with Arab money are in for a shock and some will go to the wall no matter how famous they are.

Just a few of those whom Arsene have kept faith in:
1. Fabregas – Wenger let Vieira go in order that Fabregas may develop. Few believed that Fabregas would grow to his current level, and many were calling for Vieira to be replaced with an experienced and big name signing.
2. Denilson – derided as a square and back passer
3. Song – derided just 2 years ago after a disastrous outing v Fulham
4. Diaby – derided as lazy and unable to retain possession
5. van Persie – few saw him as a main striker rather than a support striker
6. Gallas – retained after the debacle as captain, regained his form and respect of the team while the more popular Toure was transferred out.

Luke- what about Eboue? Derided as a diver, boo’ed off the pitch and he’s come back to prove himself a more than serviceable player whose versatility makes him very valuable to the squad.

I think song, denilson, diaby are all not good enough in my opinion.but it will take time for them three players to develop and become world class players later on.but problem we have is that wenger is counting on these players to become superstars later on.but for me I think none of them will become good.but wenger thinks that all of them players will become good.but if wenger doesn’t sign anyone inside the transfer window then I will be very angry with him for sure.

To the risk of you hauling insults my way gooner2, your anger won’t affect Arsenal the slightest. Can you just get it in your head Arsene is the manager and not you?
on the penalty issue, I felt embarrassed by Ngong’s dive but was happy it happened to Brum, i just can’t move on from what they did to Edwardo 2yrs ago and the Walcott incident the other day. Call me petty but the wankers can’t go down fast enough for me!!the Championship suits them just fine.

I know that arsene is the manager.but he has done so fucking bad during the last 4 years.and if we don’t win anything this season I will surely blame him again for that.and I know some so-called arsenal fan might attack me for this things I’ve said above. But i am jus a man who likes telling the truth.and if you think that I Ain’t telling the “truth” then you can fuck-off or you can just mind your own damn business.and if you can do that for me then I will be proud of you all.

I read that Alan Hansen has turned his sights onto Wayne Bridges’ poor performance against Burnley and has earned the wrath of Mark Hughes. Nice to be out of his sights for once.

Gooner2 Isnt it about time u fucked off from all things Arsenal? If you minded your business you’d leave Wenger alone and get on to something else.

Oh dear! Ur taking this far to personally for your own good Gooner 2.
AIC in the grand scheme of things I dont think it really matters that Eduardo’s goals have been fortuitous…it shows his killer instincts are returning as he would have had to be in the right place to cause defenders to panic. Anyway Drogba has made a career out of scoring goals with various parts of his anatomy including his shins, knees, arms and off other defenders. They still count. Also conceding goals is inevitable playing an open game You cant have it both ways otherwise we would play like Chelsea. Look at Barca. They can never keep a clean sheet but always outscore the opposition. Fletcher is just a tw*t. Ferguson taught him well.

AIC, glad to have you in more positive mood… keep it up, it is also good for the team.
What many fans and even blogs seem not to appreciate is that this development as a team takes time especially with our style of play. Understanding and proper anticipation of your team mates…
Even for vermaleen, the fact he came early before start of season must have helped him a bit too.

A good weekend all in all. On my ‘Arsenal for the Premiership Index’, we gained 7 points on our main rivals.
Manu dropped three points, Mancity two, Liverpool two.
I know that including manu in our list of rivals for the titlte is stretching things a bit but history and tradition have their role in our great game.

OG. Nice to see Bendy being recognized by his Danish compatriots. I’m sure the recognition will translate to remarkable performances on the pitch.
Consols, interesting take you have there. I think it’s naive to write off united at this point, but I feel good about where we are in the grand scheme of things. Ancellotti recently suggested that Arsenal are the team to watch, and its not just about the beautiful football.

come our game in hand, we will be 3 points clear on the top of the table. especially now it appears not to be in december anymore cos of the carling cup, we may even be more.

Team spirit. A game in hand is only worth 2 in the bush if we win it. Let’s focus on the games as they come and forget what’s in hand. As long as we work hard and win the games we need to win, the table will correct itself.

Song, Eboue, Denilson, Senderos, Sylvestre, Almunia, Djourou and Diaby.
Over the past two seasons, I’ve described the above players as average skilled. Now I review my assessment as fllows:
Song
He has improved and is now the mainstay of our midfield. His absence always creates a hole in the defence as evidenced by the Wolves’ game. His absence in January will be deeply felt.
Conclusion-more than average
Eboue
Has also improved but still only a good squad player. Still falls down/dive in the final third from a slight touch. Shouldn’t be played as a forward while, Nasri, Rosicky, Bendtner sit on the bench.
Conclusion-Average both as RB and RM. Can’t improve further. Should be sold next season to pave way for many young players coming up. Example, Landsbury, Coquelin, Eastmand (they’ve all played at RB before) all capable of filling in as deputy to Sagna.
Denilson
Brought in originally as CM. Got played often when Flamini left and Cesc got injured for long periods last season. Converted as a DM but hasn’t got the qualities to be successful in that position; why? No aerial ability, frail to combat bigger midfielders, lack of pace to track back, poor passing range.
Conclusion
Squad player when Song, Nasri and now Diaby are not available. Ramsey will be pushing him soon and with Lansbury, Eastmond and Coquelin coming up, can’t see him lasting for more than 2 seasons.
Senderos
Arrived as the new big thing. Programmed to replace Tony Adams and once considered a captain and offered Adams’ famous 6 jersey. Has found out to be poor and his lack of pace means he can’t progress in Arsenal because of the pace of our play. Howlers are his trademark.
Conclusion
Not good enough. Has been earmarked to be sold. Time to give way to young CB’s coming up, Nordveit, Ayling and Bartley.
Sylvestre
Strange to be bought especially having played for Manu for several years. Has proved to be a liability in big games.
Conclusion
Not good enough and don’t think his contract will be extended next summer.
Almunia
Has no CV. Came to Arsenal from Celta Vigo as a reserve GK. Became No.1 after Lehmann’s two howlers against Fulham and Blackburn which we never lost. Has improved but still short of Arsenal quality.
His howlers have been frequent and are too many to list them here. Good GK but not great. A defenders mistake almost always ends in a goal.
Conclusion
We’re stuck with him because the alternatives are even worse. With him between the sticks, conceding is always a certainty.
Can we win the league with him? Yes, only when our back 4 performs extra-ordinary.
Arsene should be looking for a GK in January.
Djourou
Not a natural defender. Too weak to be a CB in the EPL. Has all the physical attributes though. Better than Senderos.
Conclusion.
Might not be able to step up but remain as a squad player.
Diaby
His promise was cut short by a long term injury and followed by niggling injuries ever since. His technicality is beyond par and has the physicality to be a great player for us. Until recently, he’s not had run of games.
Conclusion
He’s Arsene’s choice to play alongside Cesc and Song in the new midfield combo. He needs to learn to release the ball quicker. He’s going to be a dominant midfielder this season.

I wonder how will Chelsea will do without Drogba and Essien (surely their two current best players along with Lampard) and Kalou for 6 weeks at ACN? Definately weaker. Probably go into ultra-defensive mode. More 1-0s, more draws.
Of course, I only wonder this as far as Arsenal goes. My hate list is topped by Chelsea. Thugs!

Only Fabregas, since when did Djourou have trouble tracking back? Arsenal cant be made of superstars only.Every now and then we need hard working squad players, not that I’m saying the ones you mentioned are.If Wenger sees something good in them then they must be good enough for Arsenal…well except for Sly who i don’t particularly like since he used to play for mancs.
