Swift Return To Action Toon-ight

Newcastle make a swift return to The Emirates this evening for a Premier League match, seeking some revenge for their exit from the FA Cup at the weekend. With two games against the same opposition in such short a space of time, it harks back to a bygone age when over the Christmas and Easter holidays fixtures would be reversed and it was not uncommon for a team that was on the end of a hiding to reverse the result as well. The difference then was that those matches were home and away; Newcastle are seeking their first victory over Arsenal since Graham Poll’s huge influence allowed them to end a run of twentysomething games in London with a flattering 3 – 1 win at Highbury the best part of a decade ago. Nothing that was on show on Saturday from the visitors leads you to expect a repeat performance but with this type of game, one can never tell.

With injuries and wanting to rotate, Arsene will probably make three changes to Saturday’s starting line-up. Rosicky is definitely out although his knock is nowhere near as bad as was initially thought, the Czech international likely to be back in contention for the visit to the City of Manchester stadium this weekend according to Arsene,

There is no deep problem with Tomas. He has a problem with his hamstring but it is not torn. He got a kick at Fulham and the inflammation around his tendon provokes some pain but we feel it’s a question of days, not weeks

Which begs the question as to why he started at the weekend, surely it would have been better to rest him and let him recover for tonight’s match? Hindsight is a wonderful thing. Of the other current injuries, there is no sign of an imminent return to the squad for Johan Djourou although Robin van Persie returns to training today ahead of a return in a fortnight or so’s time, seemingly either against Manchester United or AC Milan. Kolo Toure meanwhile looks to be out of the African Cup of Nations for the next couple of matches at least, the club assessed his injury in Paris over the weekend and estimated his absence to be eight to ten days. Knowing the warped mindset of the international coaches, no doubt he will be rushed back for the Ivorians Second Round tie, ahead of schedule and probably knacker himself for his return to club football.

The other returnees tonight will be Manuel Almunia and Bacary Sagna to stabilise a defence which kept a clean sheet. With Rosicky’s absence, Theo Walcott will more than likely remain on the right hand side of midfield and Eduardo partnering Adebayor up front. It will be the first test of Keegan’s return to management at Newcastle; did he learn anything from Saturday? The answer, I suspect, is likely to be a five-man midfield that sits in front of the defence for the whole of the ninety minutes trying to protect the point that they enter the field of play owning. It will be incumbent upon the players to retain possession and to test the stamina of the visitors. An early goal for Arsenal would be most welcome in the circumstances to force them to play more openly.

It is an important match in terms of shifting pressure onto United and Chelsea who face home matches tomorrow night against Portsmouth and Reading respectively. Whilst neither was convincing at the weekend, they both won their games and kept their recent momentum going. If either is going to drop points, it is probably United who are more at risk of doing so with Portsmouth’s away form being the reason for their elevated League position. Even then, you cannot see it happening despite Arsene’s attempts to induce some mindgames into the proceedings. Commenting on their recent trip to Saudi Arabia,

I have never done such a trip and I am not a fan of doing one. It can have a long-term impact and a short-term one. You can suffer in the next game as you travel, you come back, you need time to adjust and you switch off when you are away to a different country. So the focus could go a little bit and you can suffer in the next game after
I should imagine that Sir Alex Ferguson is not a fan of these games either but is well aware that the trip will have contributed to his transfer coffers for the close season. A pity that it was not scheduled the week before the FA Cup Fifth Round tie at Old Trafford.

The draw has been unfavourable, hence Arsenal dropping to 11/2 at most bookies to win the trophy yet there should be no fear in going to Old Trafford. The starting XI is likely to be very strong despite the close proximity of the tie to the visit of Milan. In some respects to have two high profile games in quick succession works in Arsene’s favour in that the players are keyed into a mindset for the second of those games, a momentum building. There is no reason for him to make wholesale changes, especially if the tie takes place on Saturday. In this instance, the Football Association must step in and make the kick-off at lunchtime rather than on the Sunday. You can guarantee that Milan will be aided by the Italian FA in bringing their fixtures forward ahead of both legs, the governing body being more geared to success on foreign fields than the money-orientated Premier League.

Dare I venture into the transfer gossip today after yesterday’s farce? At least if there were to be an investigation into the events, no news outlet would need to make up a title for it although knowing them, it would probably be called ‘Woodgate-gate’. No, for today surprisingly enough there are no new rumours as we wait with baited breath for a lone voice in the crowd to tell us that they started it all…

Enjoy the match wherever you are watching it. ‘til Tomorrow.

  1. I found your site on technorati and read a few of your other posts. Keep up the good work. I just added your RSS feed to my Google News Reader. Looking forward to reading more from you.

    Aaron Wakling

  2. Thank god we ain’t signing Woody. Its not about his skills, for he is a world class defender, but rather about his fitness that I was so dead against his reported move to the Emirates. I mean, we already have RVP and Rosicky.

But we do need a defender though.

  3. The internet can be a double-edged sword for despite the denials by Boro and Arsenal once something is out there, it is taken as the truth. I’ve just heard it repeated for the second time on the news on the radio that ‘Spurs beat Arsenal and Newcastle to the signature of Jonathan Woodgate’! Still if it makes some people feel better…

Anyway, to the match tonight, I just hope the lads keep their focus 100% tonight and not go in there thinking the points are in the bag after Saturday. This is a key game for us and we need to keep our momentum going in the premiership and not be distracted by anything.

    Come on you Reds!

  4. Yeah an early goal to keep us in the groove would be nice.

I think I’d go with Diaby on the left, ahead of Theo on the right.

Diaby is more likely to be involved in build up play and to top it off, he may be more likely to bang one in.

It’s really getting to crunch time or clutch time depending on your origins. Tonight is a great opportunity to apply some pressure.

As will a lunchtime kick off on saturday away to Manchester City. Judging on United’s up and down form, one of their next two games will be tough. We need to make it even tougher by ensuring we have points in the bag.

  5. 3 points essential tonight. Id go wth this team.

    Almunia
    Sagna Gallas Senderos Clichy
    Hleb Flamini Cesc Theo
    Ade Edu

    Jens, Hoyte, Gilberto, Diaby, Nic

Id play Theo on the left. Thats where he plays for england U21 and also where he caught the eye when with Southampton.

  6. The sporting press are a disgrace and blogs unfortunately don’t prove to be much better. Some obviously wrong story gets reported and soon everyone is reporting it as fact. 98% of transfer stories are outright false. The Daily Mail is the worst in this regard by a mile.

  7. Theo is better on the left since he can cut in and shoot. I am sure Diaby would be better on the right than the left too. Hleb can play either side. there is not a lot to choose between Diaby and Walcott, though the latter might be better as a super-sub. his pace worries tiring full-backs.

tonight really should be 3 points.

  8. Odd comment from Arsene re: Alex of Arabia’s side trip.
If it is supposed to wind up old Redface’s team, isn’t the logical response that, yes, they came back without focus: they beat by 3-1 the same Spuds team we had lost to (no matter how many subs) 5-1 five days earlier….uh, after NOT going on tour?
Wonder if Arsene really thought that one through.

  9. Wenger said it like he saw it. Again its the press billing it as mind games ! Do they really think Wenger and Fergie sit at home with the missus and jot down ideas on a sticky of what to say to ‘mind fuck’ other managers.

  10. I never like playing host to the same opponents twice in quick succession. The perversity of football often produces different results in such games. That said, if we keep our focus and spirit (two of Arsene’s favourite words) and there is no hint of complacency, which I don’t expect for a moment, we should be OK.
Does anyone agree with me that the appointment of that nasty little bog-brush Dennis Wise, as Newcastle Director of Football, is a strange move? I can’t imagine that the geordies are ecstatic and where does it leave the dithering Alan Shearer? I’m not even sure if the appointment has Keegan’s full approval.

  11. I mean , take his comment about Owen being a threat. You could read that as a genuine comment on Owens ability or you could he only said it because Owen wasnt all that dangerous in the last game and he would rather see Owen play than Viduka, who might give Big Phil a hard time. So he says that and Keegan buys it and plays Owen and not Viduka !!

  12. I know, surely the game they had to worry about was the spurs game, which they’ve already won. he should have said that before they played spuds.

  13. Kelsey, we beat Liverpool twice at Anfield last season in a row. I think its OK to play twice in a row if you have won the first game because it knocks the belief of the opposition. they’ll think, we played well and still got beaten 3-0. IF we dont win tonight I dont think we can have an excuses.

  14. Flint McCullough

    YW-
    ‘Woodgate-gate’ deserves a better story.
It did all sound a rather an unlikely AW deal.

The Wise thing is strange, Kelsey. Perhaps he is in the habit of sharing a taxi with Mr Ashby.

  15. Good read as usual YW.

Woodgate while very good football wise is not going to fit into AW’s idea of a professional. I wonder how Cashley survived under AW struct regime or did he learn to party from JT and gang.

Tonight we should have enough about us to win but King Kev may be tempted to be more conservative. But if he still think he can outscore us at the Emirates all the more better for our Mid fielders and defensive wing backs.

    Lets see.

    Up The Arse!!!!

  16. Absolutely agree with Danny on playing Diaby ahead of Theo..We discuss Theo twice more than Diaby and put him ahead of diaby even when diaby had much better previous game. Why are we so obsessed about Theo?

I am too excited with back to back match up with Milan and Utd..I reckon Arsene will go with few changes not all..may be diaby and eboue will start in each game ..forwards we shudnt have problem with bendtner cud start if rvp is fir enough then..the major concern wud be midfield..i am not comfortable replacing cesc and flamini with anyone in midfield position..and that is most taxing position for back to back games..only if diarra wud have stayed and denilson cud have come up notch ahead in his recent performances…

  17. Re: Woodgate-gate. Interesting little roller coaster of emotion.

First the reports that Spuds are going to capture him.

Reaction 1: Oh, that’s a worry. Gives them good cover at the back to plug their most gaping weakness. They’ve got a great attack. We don’t want them to have a good defense, too.

Reaction 2: Yeah, but the idiot is never fit…..ha, ha, they’re throwing away their money again.

Reaction 3: ….And at best he’s an idiot, at worst a nasty rascist time bomb. How will King, Jenas et al feel about him as a teammate? They might be buying a virus.

Then out come all the headlines about us buying him.

Reaction 4: Interesting, I’ve felt from last summer that we needed more height and power at the back.

Reaction 5: Yeah, but he’s never fit.

    Reaction 6: …and like I said, he’s a freeking anti-social idiot. Not Arsenal stuff.

Reaction 7: Yeah, but won’t Spurs be totally freeking livid!!!! Ha Ha.

Then it all turns out to be another headline chase.

Reaction 5: Thank god. Who would pay good money for someone who only plays 5 games a year? With serious personality baggage.
    Oh, Spurs. Ha Ha Ha.

  18. yes he is injury prone but when he plays he is a very good defender. if he plays with King next season, a) they could improve drastically and b) they could beat us for the first time in an important match for about 15 years. we saw how King can only play one game in every 3 these days and you can be sure that King will always play against Arsenal. he made a huge difference to their side and would have beaten Man u at OT had he been in the team.

hate to say it but ‘One-day’ Ramos seems to be a decent manager. they already had the makings of a good attack and he is clearly trying to stiffen the defence. By rights they should have been up there with Villa, City and Everton this season, but they were so awful at the back that they kept losing games they really shouldn’t have lost. However, I dont give them much credit for that – they have spent shed loads of money, and given that, have badly under-acheived for years. Also they buy so many players that they seem to get by on volume alone ie trial and error. eventually some of their purchaces have to be good!

Glad to see Diaby signing another deal. I do like him despite the critcism he comes in for. He is constantly played out of position and he says so himself. he said he feels far more comfortbale in central midfield. he needs to re-iterate that to wenger again and again. eventually wenger will give him his chance in the middle. he can be a good back up to Cesc but anywhere else in the team is a waste of his significant talents.
next season may see us sign 2 wingers (Gouffran and Vela) so maybe Diaby wont be needed on the wing anymore. I hope thats the case. Then Denilson can play understudy to Flam and everything is hunky dory.

If I had to let 2 players go in the summer it would Gilberto and Eboue.

  19. At first I was a bit unhappy that we have Manure in the cup draw but on reflection not a bad idea. Sometimes its the little clubs that cause upsets it is after all a cup match. After the last couple of games my confidence in Swiss Tony is returning, and it appears comments such as he needs more time on the pitch are proving correct. I hope they dont move Theo from the right to the left, because he now seems to be getting more useful on the right. He will have Sagna behind him this time(if he is played tonight) which after Saturdays display will give him more confidence which is what he needs. Likewise Diaby appears to be getting his act together and a switch for him may be the undoing of both. I can see no other reason but a win tonight, but as they say its all up to the fat lady she seems to know best.

  20. I have said it many times already – but i fear Diaby will never be good enough for Arsenal.

He does not have the footballing intelligence – he doesnt know when to pass easily, or try and take a man on – he is ill disciplined defensively.

I cannot fathom why anyone thinks he had a good game on saturday – unless you only watch highlights and didnt actually go – he was awful – AGAIN.

Im sorry – but i would rather build Walcott’s performance and put him in the side than have Diaby playing anyday.

  21. Matt .. is it because Diaby is not, unlike Walcott, English??
Diaby is one of the few guys that can actually take a player on and go past him
Whatever his decision making is, it surely isnt worse than Walcott’s
he has also got a very good shot, again unlike most of our 1st team players ..
maybe its time to wear the non biased glasses again

  22. agree with matt, play walcott and give him some games. potentialy he is a far better prospect than diaby and at least has some of the attributes required for a winger even if it is not his best position.

  23. Not at all BB – i couldnt care less what nationality a player is who plays for Arsenal – as long as they are good enough.

For me – Walcott has shown far more potential than Diaby, and it is clear he is a confidence player so he needs a run of games.

Diaby might take people on, and might go past a man – but then her tries to take 3 more on when a simple pass is a better option.

And he is lazy getting back to defend.

And if his shooting is so good – where are all of his goals this season?

I dont debate his ability – its his intelligence i question – he doesnt know when to pass or take people on or shoot.

I have never seen a player give the ball away as much as he does, often in dangerous areas.

I would love to be proved wrong – and he turn out to be a superstar for us – but on the evidence up to now – i dont see it.

  24. Is that why according to reports he is being offered a contract till 2011. Gees you are wasted here Matt Arsenal should let you take over from the Boss. And Dan agrees with you wow you could both take over.

  25. old timer, what has that got to do with it, just because he is being given a new contract means he should start in front of walcott!!!! not sure where the that thought process comes from, the longer the contract the more games you play? the more recent you sign the contract the more you play? i am not one to be rude but what a ridiculous comment. all we were saying is in our opinion walcott should play infront of him at the moment and that as a winger he has more potential than diaby. i have no problem with diaby and feel sorry for him permanently playing out of position. he is clearly not a left midfielder.

  26. very brave man to say that Walcott has shown more potential than Diaby .. I have seen many a game recently at the Emirates where Sagna looked in despair at Walcott and ended up playing the ball to anybody rather than the man himself
I wont deny that Diaby’s decision making is short of what it should be, but then at least he shows some body strength and doesnt get pushed off the ball like a feather weight
I wish both of our young guys well, but I must admit that on this blog I sense a strong anti Diaby brigade .. may you merrily join in the utterly naive Theo, Theo chants that we surely must endure at the Emirates again 2nite

  27. your views are always an interesting read mr yogi…

any realistic arsenal fan wouldve never believed the woodgate story, 8 mill for a defender! injury prone! 28! most UN-wengerlike. No surprises at all it turned out to be agent smoke, havent people been watching what arsene does for years now he never dips in the transfer market in such a manner.

gonna be tighter than saturday but looking forward to a sound victory tonight.
    come on u gooners!!

  28. quite frankly neither have them made the sort of progress we would have hoped for and both have question marks as to whether they will be good enough in the long term. no doubt our weakest areas on the pitch are on the wings, and it is neither diaby or walcotts fault that they are always made to play out of position.

  29. I am in the Diaby camp though there is not that much in it. for me Walcott loses the ball more often than diaby. neither of them really protect their full back that much. neither of them have that much goal threat from the wing. But diaby is stronger and can at least take it past a player. he can also make himself available for a pass – ie he finds better positions than walcott who to me, always seems to be hiding, albeit unintentionally. By 60 minutes in a game then Walcotts pace is a huge quality to be able to bring off the bench but Diaby at the moment is a better player even though it might not be that way forever.

  30. Matt wrote ‘I have said it many times already – but i fear Diaby will never be good enough for Arsenal.’I Dan wrote ‘I agree with Matt’

Thought process these two know better than the Boss they should take over Wow. IMO leave them both alone and get off their backs.

  31. Sorry forgot its the Dan and Matt show.

  32. I really think Diaby & Walcott can not be compared, the only similarities between the two is that both of them play out of position, and lack in confidence.

Walcott lack in confidence because the level of expectation on his young shoulders is huge…And yes BB, people chant his name for no reason other than wanting an English hero, not because he’s playing well. (That doesn’t help by the way)

Diaby lacks in confidence, because he is away from his favorite position and not playing this much.

Both of the players need to raise the bar, because playing for Arsenal on that level is not easy.

I hope they do just that today.

    Good luck Gunners.
    G4E

  33. old timer it is called an opinion and that is what blogs are about not name calling. i agreed with him that walcott should get a run in the team. why bother coming on here if you are going slag off people who do not agree with you?

  34. Sorry what name did I call you, I just had an opinion that disagreed with yours. Just as I have before when you wanted to buy buy buy. Is that slagging off too?

  35. the “dan & matt show” how patronizing can you get!!!!!! or was that a constructive comment? i still say we need some new players a view shared by the overwhelming majority of fans.

  36. These two are hardly rivals for each others position. As someone said both will probably be a little dissappointed with their contributions up to now.

Diaby seemed to be coming into a little form on the back of short run of games, around the time he struck that thunderbolt of a goal against Sunderland I think. Since then injuries have curtailed his involvement and his subsequent form. Against Newcastle he was much closer to his own best, doing the kind of things he likes to do. Driving through the centre and generally being hard to dispossess. For the reason that he is closer to form I’d go with him.

I still think Wenger will probably go with Theo. For me, that’s a little bit soft. Theo showed small signs of improving second half and made a couple of reasonable runs, but despite the favourable fan reactions he still did not do enough. The most worrying factor, is simply that when he finally does manage to recieve the ball, he still gives away possession 50 per cent of the time.

Both have talent and Wenger can get find it, I’m sure.

  37. Easy Dan…..you haven’t been doing match day surveys have you.

  38. danny come on, in your opinion reading what you see here, other places and your pals comments. if you asked arsenal supporters if they would like to see us strenthgen our squad, how many do you think would say no i think we are perfect as we are? even pro arsenal pundits all say the same thing thing that there are areas that could do with strengthening.

  39. I agree wholeheartedly Dan,

Though, it is in the wording!

Would you like to strengthen the squad?

    -No I don’t fancy that!

So it is clearly farcical to say you would not be happy to strengthen the squad, where we differ is in the personnel.

Dan you regularly like the sound of most players we are linked with, such is your desperacy to see some transfer movement. But I’m more picky, you mentioned a host of names yesterday and I was not keen on any of them. Babbel maybe in the summer because I felt we were a winger light.

To be fair, that was previous to the rise of a sensational Hleb, but also before a dissappointing season so far for Theo and injuries galore for RVP. Neither of whom are wingers, but who are options in that postion. Eboue has been slightly better in that position than I thought he would be, but there are still doubts.

But I never like to winter transfer window signings. They don’t have much time to integrate.

The question for me is not would I like a stronger squad, because of course I would. So did the Real Madrid fans when they had the galaticos, but the question…do I believe this squad we have can win the title? And my answer is yes I believe they can.

  40. We can dan, but we will not die without it. It’s only couple of days and the window will close.

If Wenger doesn’t think we need to buy, we will not buy any one. It says to the players we have that he believes they can do it, they have to come up with the goods, and they have to stand up and be counted.

It’s really funny, that we (including me) sit here and point out the weaknesses of our team to Wenger….
We think he doesn’t know what our weaknesses are….
We think that he is not seeing all the world class players available to buy….

Maybe we are right and the guy doesn’t know what he’s doing…..It’s aa pity we find that out 11 years later.

  41. Hands down one of the best blogs! Yogi i really respect ur commentary, unbiased, a pleasure to read!

I think this Match has come too early as far as having the best teams there at the end. Though u can loose to any team the probability is quite low to loose to a lesser team.

As far as Diaby – i remember him giving Chelsea a warm time in the CC! i would rather start him at the moment because he is more confident and seems to put more fear in defenders at the moment. His decision making will come with training and match experience. quite a talent. Walcott is lacking a bit of confidence and does make some wrong decisions also but from what i have seen is quite effective as a sub, he just seems to have the knack of causing trouble when he comes on at the end of matches. however i think both will be great(too much potential). Everything in life takes time, though it may not happen as fast as we would like it will happen!

    God Bless!

  42. of course we can live without. as it stands whatever happens (other than the mother of all meltdowns) we will comfortably get in th CL again and who knows in the cups. ie a step in the right direction from last year. the question is could we be taking more than one step at a time with the reources he has available. i never expected any new players in the window, he said there wouldn’t be and he pretty well always tells the truth when it comes to this sort of thing. it is ironic mind you that assuming nothing happens we will leave the window weaker than we started it!!!! (ie no more diarra, who despite being a bit of a plonker was still 3rd in the pecking of central midfielders)

  43. I liked Diarra and feel a bit down he has moved on. The squad is definitely weaker as a result and I’m sure he would have got plenty of game time, from now on in. But I can understand why he moved on, fair enough. Also am pretty certain that it should not be used as a stick to beat Wenger with. It’s hardly his fault, like some here have tried to make out.

Dan signing players doesn’t guarantee titles. The mood in the camp looks good, we’re focused. The fringe players are just about involved enough to be happy and importantly develop their games.

Yes we are doing better than last year, but forget that, it’s an easy get out and I don’t want one!

I think this squad can win the title. That’s it, in a nutshell. I’m confident we’ll win trophies this season.

Dan, it strikes me that for you the grass is always a bit greener on the other side. For example you were insistent that United were better than us yesterday. I didn’t join in, because the player for player thing is a tiresome debate, but I now live in Manchester, hence most of mates are United fans and I watch most games with them. They’re not as good as you think.

  44. danny hopefully you are right and we will something. it is not a matter of the grass is greener it is looking at are we doing everything we can to win things. part of football is the debate, the analysis etc. if we were that great and didn’t need some improving we would still be the best team in england as were a few years ago and would be winning trophies on a regular basis.

  45. Arsenal!!!! arsenal!!!! cmon gunners… we need to go on top today and hope diarra and gang do us a favour tomorrow.

  46. Great 1st half,

I am watching it on the internet from a Thai feed, picture is great but the commentary is a little hard to follow, I tried turning it down with Radio 5 Live, unfortunately there is a 2 min delay so I heard the goal just at the wrong time

whats important now though is to not repeat the Birmingham game, Newcastle havent really created, but it only takes a second, so come Arsenal lets kill the game with another couple

    Come on Arsenal

  47. Great Result that,

and good to see Cesc and Flamini on the scoresheet. we are getting back in the groove.

Newcastle just didnt get into it. KK has some work to do up there.

Clichy again was superb, Diaby was good and he is definately playing infield a bit more and it is working, especially with the room it is giving Gael.

    No poor performances at all

MOTM is difficult, I think I would give it to Flamini or Clichy

Oh and i think Ade has surely killed off any doubts now.

  48. Adebayorrr, Adebayooorrrr
Give him the ball….and he will scoooorre.

    How many EPL goals now??!
Oh, I forgot he’s not a top class striker…..rrright. Ha Ha

  49. I have been in the ‘disappointed with Diabys performances’ camp of late – I thought he was excellent tonight.

Everybody looked good, but Newcastle were abject – so considering that, my major let down is we didn’t really go for more goals to make up the difference tonight.

    But hey ho!

Bring on Citeh, they’re not in good form.

  50. Is it my imagination or is Ethan busy playing with his John Thomas

  51. Thanks Jamie….Snapple doesn’t taste that good coming out of my nostrils :)

I heard he was campaigning hard to ban Ade from appearing in the Fifa 2008 XBOX game.

  52. Flamini “thinks outside the box”

  53. Excellent result – Clichy was my MOTM no doubt. He was brilliant in attack and defence. You should have heard some of the gasps of amazement around the Emirates at some of the things he did with the ball! Diaby played well – see what playing a few games in a row can do for a players’ confidence? Ade answered his critics yet again and our midfield is chipping in with goals too.

    Keep it up lads!

  54. Loved the Flamster’s cracking goal! So well deserved and he’s the MotM for me! Glad Cesc’s back on the scoresheet too. A header and 2 goals from the midfield, how sweet!

Again, Senderos is quietly continuing to put a decent run of games together. Glad to see him gain some confidence back too.

Just afraid those Ade haters might be back and saying ‘he only scored one today, that’s outrageous!’ :P

  55. good result tonight everybody did their bit obviously flamini stood out more than anybody it just goes to show what a run of games confidence and dedication can do for you, he always believed he could hold his own in the central midfield position he’s even starting to dictate play there now ahead of cesc.

couple of things i noticed about newcastle was how bad is owen’s body language ! this is one man who is not enjoying his football give him clear chances and he will probably score, but because he’s lost his pace he looks very ordinary.
also keegan saw him on sky in the interview he’s starting to look disheveled already !!!

    Great win again.

My only gripe as some have already pointed, more goals, we need MORE. I am sounding like Oliver Twist for those who are old enough to remember. We could easily have score 6 and we were only behind to the Manures on GD. So every bit of advantage may eventually be telling. Theoretically lets say two top teams are level on both points and GD, how will the title finally be decided? does any one know?

We are coming into form at the right time as the next 2 months will be our most testing. We hope the December blip is over and we go marching to consistency. RVP will be back and so will the ACN players.

    Up The Arse!!!!
