Arsenal 2 – 1 Steaua Bucharest
1 – 0 Diaby (8)
2 – 0 Bendtner (40)
2 – 1 Zaharia (69)
A comfortable win over Steaua that confirmed second spot in the Group so the next European night will be against either Barcelona, Real, Internazionale, Porto or Milan. Good teams all but none is invincible; a full strength Arsenal side is capable of beating any of them. If you were looking for the weaker teams then Porto would be the choice of opposition out of the hat next Friday so Barcelona it will be then.
Last night’s showing was at least a return to the passing and movement that had been missing for the previous two and a half games. Steaua were very accommodating in that department, giving plenty of space for players to pass and move.
The returnees, van Persie and Diaby, both did well considering the length of their absences. RvP dealt with a couple of ‘rough and tumble’ moments well enough to suggest that he is ready for the ‘contact’ side of the Chelsea fixture on Sunday. Whilst he did not score, there were indications that his confidence has not suffered and the partnership he struck with Bendtner looked promising enough although any judgements on that should be weighted against the standard of the opposition.
Both goals were typical ‘Arsenal’ goals; a nice passing move led to van Persie feeding Walcott who moved the ball wide to Sagna. Diaby beat the defender to the ball – the latter seemed to be waiting for it to arrive – waited for the ‘keeper to commit himself before putting the ball into the net. For the second, van Persie again was key, releasing Bendtner whose two delicate touches took the ball out of the defences reach, despite their close attentions, and slid the ball into the goal.
If the goals scored were typical as was that conceded – soft. Zaharia’s looping header raised a question mark in my mind as to whether or not Lehmann’s Achilles Heel with age will be the spring in his step. Seaman’s was the longer-range effort, struggling to get down. Lehmann does not appear to have that problem but keepers have their weaknesses that become more apparent as time rolls on.
Of those on display who are not regulars, no one stood out as a ‘must include’ for Sunday. Walcott saw a lot of the ball and was unlucky not to score early on; wasteful on other occasions but worked hard defensively. Generally, the crossing was poor last night, not just from Theo. Too often the first defender did not have much to do to intercept, something to work on although I suppose understandable given that last night barely reached the intensity of a pre-season friendly. Alex Song had a comfortable evening in the middle of midfield, confidence boosting for him in that role.
Having criticised Eboue for his antics at Middlesbrough, it is only fair to praise his defensive work last night, clearing from underneath the bar having just come on as a substitute. More of that attitude, less of the other please.
Options though for Sunday were increased but with a cautionary note. Should Hleb or Fabregas fail to recover, Diaby could come in on the left to free Rosicky in the middle. The only issue I have with that is the ease with which Diaby can be channelled to the outside on to his left foot that is generally only used for standing on.
A win though is not to be sniffed at as it put the end to the mini-rot that had set in and eases the pressure of Sunday a little. The media now have to describe the run as ‘one win in three’ rather than ‘have not won in four games’, and a little monkey is off the teams back in that respect also.
Arsene is up before the beaks today with UEFA having the option of increasing the touchline ban. The media wondered how he communicated with the bench during the game. As telepathy is unproven, the fact that the chap next to him had an unsubtle earpiece on might give it away. More likely though is that he did not bother until the interval and had someone run downstairs with a note from the stands.
‘til Tomorrow.

Of the five I’d probably prefer Inter or Real Madrid. I’m scared of Milan and of course Barcelona are formiddle, plus there’s something about playing Porto I don’t like. Probably the fact that they’re the only side we’d go in against as favourites. I think that would work against us.

The goal came from a soft shoulder challenge by Gallas inside the are, which he lost. I point this out so as to show that every player on this team can commint mistakes that lead to goals, not aloways the usual scapegoats.
Can Diaby play in the middle on Sunday? That would be interesting, pairing him with Flamini or Diarra.

The goal we conceded against Steaua was soft – soft defending and goalkeeping. When the ball was heading in, I sincerely thought Jens would claw it out. Unfortunately, no. Whether he was too slow or too far forward , we cannot really blame him. Overall he did not do too bad. Its just bad defending to allow the Steaua player the chance. Should have shoulder budged him to get him off balance.
A good win still. Any win from now on whatever the margin is a good win.
RvP played well. Theo should have scored. Maybe he will on Sunday.

Good first half. Very good in fact. Second half we faded and lost interest a bit. Easy win really.
VanP looked like he was never out. Lets hope for a classic VanP goal against Chelski. Bentdner was excellent in the first half too as was Theo. Cool head and finish from the big Dane. Theo needs to compose himself and take a leaf from Nics book on finishing. But Theo did create all his own chances in the first half. Looks a lot stronger too i must say and held off some challenges he was being bullied out of last season. Probably due to his injury. Diaby had a good’n also but needs to not try beat his man every time , sometimes its ok to pass you know Abou.
Barca in the next round. I can feel it in me waters !!

Little more than a slightly livelier than usual friendly.
Obviously the big benefit was Diaby & RVP getting through 60 odd minutes, in reasonable form, particularly the former.
It didn’t tell us a lot more about anyone, except perhaps Theo, who looked very lively in the 1st half but still needs more composure, & Song, who is proving to be a lot better, despite a couple of slips, than most had previously given him credit for.
Almunia would have caught the goal & instantly set up a goalscoring counter attack.
Seriously, nothing was learnt about Jen’s form because he had little to do & had no chance with the goal. It had all got a little too easy until they scored.

Bring on anyone, Real, Barca, or Brazil. We may not love trips to the cold north-east for the time being but overall this squad likes the toughest of tests to get the blood flowing. All of the group toppers will fear getting us the most and we should reflect that with our own breathtaking brand of young fearlessness. With more of our killer players on the park, we can outplay anyone and a big scalp at the beginning of March may just lead to a rampage.
After what had gone before, last night was a massive shot in the arm before Sunday.
We were in no form, but there was something in last night’s display that tells us, that rust can be shaken off and that confidence has not been effected.
Think we will need one of Hleb or Fabregas for Chelsea and strangely I expect to see both of them. I may be massively dissappointed but one of those two and Van Persie who looked quite bright considering the length of his absence and will we undoubtedly return to dominating with our fluent possession.
Chelsea are getting louder and louder. The cockiness is erupting from some reasonable run of form and apparently some improved football. Wow, we’re shaking in our boots. United were full of it in the run up, but then could not get near us and nearly stole a ridiculous three points. With a couple of returning artists, we can save those Christmas gifts for Sunderland away!
Even if Hleb and Fabregas both do not make it, we can capture the three points by finding a bit more ruthlessness.

It was always so interesting when people talked about who we were missing, they never mentioned Diaby, and he’s an important squad player. His combination of physical presence and passing ability means he would have been important in games like Newcastle away.

Good Shout Ole…it may sound a bit grasping at straws but I agree he would have made a big difference. He was excellent first half and if he comes in for Chelsea, I won’t argue.
He frightened them in the Carling Cup final last year too.
Our stocks may just have replenished enough now!

a few standout players for me:
RVP – a legend in the making – so glad he’s back
Diaby – this guys got some serious skills
Bendtner – superb aerial strength and calmness in front of goal
Traore – i think he should be a left winger- superb pace and trickery and a good cross – stick him on the left and move Rosicky in the middle
the rest did ok – song looked good….i think i am one of the few people who really enjoyed seeing Mad Jens back in goal – i’d have him over Almunia any day of the week
By: RVP*** on December 13, 2007

I agree that Traore would be good on the left wing his attacking skills, are far better than his defensive skills.
Jens did nothing to show he should replace Almunia,WE NEED ANOTHER GOALKEEPER ONCE AGAIN I URGE US TO SIGN JASKALIANEN.
Diably and Bentdner if not starters should always be on the bench at least and play some part in the game, if Ade continues his ego trips Bentdner can easily link up with RVP,
By: solgooner on December 13, 2007

The obvious thing to me is if RVP plays then we will revert back to 4-4-2 , meaning 4 spots for the midfield ,flamini was supposed to be back for the C.L game , but wenger in a better judgment obviously rested him , i would guess he thought so he can partner with fabs V chelsea. Theo on one wing and eboue on the other .. my point ? we dont need either hleb or fabs to play . the only way we will require them all to return is if we play the dreaded 4-5-1 .. Its pretty much like lotto trying to guess the formation , yet it is crucial for success . I personally would like arsenal to attack chevski , so i’m in favor of the 4-4-2 with RVP and bentner and i also wouldn’t want to go over board with too much creativity in the center of the park ! balance please arsene !. But knowing arsene theres every chance he will go the 4-5-1 which would be a shame ! its almost like admitting we want a draw ! I suppose time will tell once AFC release news on who is fit and who isn’t !

Looking foward to Super Sunday.
Chelsea have gone far in competitions because they are solid defensively and in the midfield, with one main attacker, who fortunately is not playing – Drogba. The key to beating them, will be to spread play to the wings and also keeping the midfield tight. We need to hit them from the blast of the whistle, before they settle down to their defensive kick and follow game. Its a match Istart with a 4-4-2 and change to 4-5-1, if we are winning or 4-3-3 if the unthinkable happens.
In attack, I will Pick RVP to play behind Bendner. We need these big guys to play upfront against Chealse’s big defenders. The issue is who partners RVP upfront and on current form, I have chosen Bentner over Ade. We should of course have Theo to run ragged the big Chelsea defenders in 2nd half. Depending on match outcome Ade can come in for RVP, or for Ebue if we find ourselves behind, and need to play 4-3-3.
In midfield we need to avoid giving Chelsea the chance of unnecessary free kicks in the dangerous areas. That is where they can hurt us , with Shevchenko and Alex who are very good with headers. Also Lampard and Essien ( is still on suspension?) have excellent spot kick and long range shot threats.
In midfield I would play Diaby ahead of Rosiky on the left, with Hleb as AM, and Flamini DM, playing infront of the back four. Am sure Ebue is not popular for his antics, but we need Ebue to bring the crosses in and for defensive cover on the right.
The defence Picks itself: Clichy, Gallas, Toure, Sagna.
Goal keeper is Alumina, with Fabianksi as reserve.
Bye Jens, hope ManC signs you..

Problems can be solved so easily for you*, ethan. You should be the manager really.
*Mainly by selling and buying like in Football Manager.
Team for Sunday: the only mistery is on midfield I think. RVP and Ade will start up front, Bendtner will be in the bench possily ahead of Eduardo in the pecking order because of the young danish’s performances. Back four is obvious as it’s been pointed above by confidentgoner. Midfield is the mistery.
Rosicky may be the only certain starter. The rest depends on fitness and gambles. Diaby or Denilson if Cesc is not fit, Diarra or Gilberto if that happens with Flamini and Eboue if Hleb doesn’t make it.
I wouldn’t take gambles and play Diaby, Eboue and Diarra. But Flamini is supposed to be close so maybe he’ll start. After that, maybe Cesc on the bench could be an option.

Highlight for me was seeing RVP back. Gutsiest performance – Theo in the first half. Comedy moment – Jens dribbling around their centre forward. He really doesn’t care does he? Thank god is was a meaningless game in terms of result! Still we’ll have Almunia back Sunday so calm can be restored.
By: steww on December 13, 2007

Actually I feel much more confident about Arsenal with Lehmann in goal than with Almunia – I know he’s made some costly howlers ealier on and it was right to drop him, but a keeper like that will not continue to make them, he is much more of a matchwinner too.
Personally I would stick Fabianski ahead of both!

overall a good nights work, RVP, Diaby, Theo, Bendtner, Denilson and Song all put in good performances. the goalie issue to me is fairly irrelevant both are ok and will make the odd mistake. would like to see theo getting starts in front of eboue he adds so much more going forward. bendtner as well was really good.
traore has too many step overs he needs to keep it a bit more simple and lose the ball less but he clearly has lots of talent.

happy to see that at least a couple of people here realize how good Diaby really is ..
I mentioned in a previous post that Diaby reminds me a little bit of Muntari .. he will never be a defensive PV4 for us as he is too skilled and offensive for such a role
still surprised how little credit Ade gets considering that he is feared by most competent centrebacks in this country
Bendtner was by no means bullet proof last night
and Walcott has still not shown a great deal of final ball competence to entrust him with a starting spot against CFC
good also to see RVP’s vision and passing skills
why some people are eulogizing about Song here is a mystery .. has nobody seen the second half??
its one thing playing square passes in the 1st half when the Romaninas were hibernating, another to go missing when we came under pressure(and nearly conceded an equalizer)

Oh dear. Yes ethan, sorry for making a spelling mistake writing in my second language after 24 hours without sleeping.
But you really are the last one able to correct spelling mistakes here. You wrote “should of” instead of should have three times in the same post yesterday or the day before that. “Your” instead of “you are” in the last one. Lots of missed caps and apostrophes. Your english is quite crap and you get offended when anyone dares to criticise it, and start calling people nazis (for that and not agreeing with your childish views). So it’s like having Pol Pot complaining about human rights abuse.
You also ask people to back off. I think lots of us have backed off lots of times to avoid conflict. But you ask me to back off (from giving my opinion without insulting you in any way) and then proceed to say I’m talking total bollocks. That’s what I call preaching by example.
I know Arsène has faith in Eboue and that’s why I think he won’t risk Hleb and why I said EBOUE WOULD START! But you can’t even understand simple english so why should I bother arguing against the rest of your points. (even though I’m not always necessarilly against what you say, but this last few days you’ve been unstoppable)
Etc. (if I had more time I could bother answering in a more detailed way)
Sorry to the rest of the readers of this usually excelent blog for the disruption.

Your English is excellent but ‘Nazis’ should be spelt with a capital ‘n’, but then you wouldn’t normally expect to see such a word in a quaint Arsenal blog.
I do actually think that Eboue is probably the only certain starter in midfield because of the fitness doubts. Diarra & Flamini, with Hleb, were superb at Villa.
Bentner did well last night but he is not yet the 90min threat that Ade usually is. Good man to bring on for RVP later in the game.
By: Flint McCullough on December 13, 2007

ethan instead of Rosicky that I find by and large disappointing .. same as in Dortmund .. the little Czech Mozart has not delivered the goods that he promised early on in his career .. look for Robinho who plays in same left back position than Rosicky with a right foot for stellar performances
Diaby gets indeed cornered on his left foot, but then Rosicky suffers same limitations
for Rosicky’s superior game reading skills, you get Diaby’s power and determination
as the last games have proven, there are squad players and there are real hard contributors
Eboue/Rosicky/Diaby are squad players and are therefore interchangeable
Hleb/Fabs/RVP are mega contributors
walcott still got a long long learning curve in developing both a football brain and superior technique..
follow AW on this .. he knows what to do with him and TW aint no Pennant, etc..
the last thing you want is another Owen who peaked early on and then suffered from intrinsic technical limitations

Hey you’ve got to admit bentner Has a reasonable passing game , he didn’t give away possession and steau are a better team than middlesboro ! I think he deserves his chance , and the reason i say sell ade is bentner is 19 (4 years younger)and i cannot see to much difference in there psychical style of play..
But one must go .. or rather one will want to go
unless arsene enforces a squad rotation policy .
Remember vela is coming and walcott is really a striker and RVP fills one spot .. Then you have Dudu.. We don’t need more forwards but i would sell one and get anelka ! We need some experience and we did train him up initially. And mark my words he will be playing for liverpoo, manc’s ,spurs, pompy, man’ure or the chevski’s if we don’t act now ..
He’s good for 15 + goals a season .And I’m sure he is settled now .And we could use him upfront !
And I’m sure none of us would really object if he plays at arsenal again !

! And has the makings of a world beater , i don’t think stunting him is advisable .
fair point on walcott , no one wants to see burnout .But i do think he’s something special ,especially as he’s made in the UK
But i did see you include Hleb in the mega performers category , if we had this conversation last season i’m sure you wouldn’t be using his name and mega performer in the same sentence , the only difference is arsene started using him in the correct position this season. Rosicky is a left sided attacking midfielder,
not a winger . His talents are wasted out there. So i suppose do you sell him ? and get a real winger or..
actually there is no other option ..
We have so many midfield options available it isn’t funny , we will start to piss some players off shortly , in the same vain as chevski did …

I’m so glad “English Grammer” for the insane classes are offered on this blog.
I liked Walcott’s efforts yesterday, although he didn’t score or provide an assist. I think I said earlier that he runs with the ball with no goal in mind. He played slightly better against SB, I think right now and at this age, his legs are doing the talking…I think he needs to sync his legs with his brain and he will be an awesome player. That will come in time, when he slows the runs and speed the decision making process.
Some say, we should always balme individual players for defeat, or goals conceded and not blame the team as whole. In this case, can I blame Lehmann alone for conceding the goal against SB? Howard sure have something to say about that Ethan.
It would be a huge surprise to me, if Anelka ever play again in an Arsenal shirt taking into account the circumstances in which he left us in the first place. I personally, even though I like his abilities as a striker, would not want him playing for my team.
The good thing about the current Arsenal squad is that %75 of them can not claim the star status because they know they didn’t win any big trophy yet. They’re all working hard to become stars, and I have no doubt many of them will.

On the subject of Song; I can’t help feeling that last season Song was devastated by the crowds reaction to him. This season, right from the first pre-season game at Barnet where he played centre half, he has been better and as a result the crowd laid off him a tad. A couple of good games in that position in the Carling cup and the crowd no longer gasps in apprehension at the idea of him on the ball and…all of a sudden we are seeing a different Song (no pun intended).
I alluded to a similar point the other day regarding backing the guys on the pitch and used Hleb as an example of what happens when the crowd starts doubting a player – I think Song is turning into another excellent example of this.
To the blogger who made a point about Diabys absence, I totally agree. I feel with all the other injuries we have been suffering from we have almost forgotten that Abou was also out – I cant help but feel that had he been in the centre of midfield at Newcastle and Middlesbrough the performances could have been very different – maybe not the results but he would have made a difference in the middle of the park.
Ethan, I would love to respond to the apparently random stream of conciousness you spewed forth upon the computer screen in response to being called out for labeling people Nazis – sadly I have too little time.
Now you have chosen to show another colourful side to your character; describing someone as a ‘fag’. So then three questions to you:
1) Do you think being a ‘fag’ is a negative personality trait, and if so would you consider it a character defect and therefore a form of abuse?
2) How does this form of abuse, if you consider it abuse, fit with your: ‘no personal attacks on bloggers’ mantra? And in the relative pecking order of ‘personal’ attacks would you consider it more or less objectionable than having a dig about someones use of language?
3) Why do you think it is that you manage to have so many acrimonious disagreements with other bloggers?
I sincerely look forward to your response.
P.S Ethan did point out my user name is a bit rubbish the other day, I whole heartedly agree – it started out when I responded to someone called David Dein you see…I shall from this post forth be known as…{Drum Roll} Joseph K

I like that choice, Joseph K. Don’t think Ethan will get it, tho.
I was very struck by how more aggressive and determined Theo was last night. Another manager would’ve given up on him some time ago but not Wenger, the man has such enormous patience.
Any news yet on UEFA’s decision re extending AW’s CL touchline ban?
Apparently Ade’s been shortlisted for African Player of the Year. How he gets on the list and not King Kolo is beyond me.

Ethan enough is enough! We havnt heard from you for six months and everybody is now hoping its going to be six years or more before we hear from you again. Your ranting is now becoming far too offensive and if you cant put your point over without insulting people on this blog then please find another.

Marcus, I was going to go with simply ‘K’ but I didn’t want anyone to confuse me with the Cider!
I agree on Theo, he just seemed to look physically more confident – I wonder if Wenger has had him doing weights, or maybe some psychological work?
There is an excellent piece about RvP over on Goodplaya in his match report, it describes more perfectly than I could what a player we have been missing. RvP has turned into one terrific footballer, just seeing him out there last night filled me with confidence for Sunday…
…Seeing Wayne Bridge play for Chelsea the other night helped as well!

Thanks Joseph K. (Formerly Stan).
I just don’t understand how the name calling is going to help us here?
We can be as far as both ends of the globe in disagreement about how our team should play football, but when we start calling each other names it just changes the debate from football to anything else. There are many blogs out there to voice your views on a long list of social and political issues, I think this blog was intended for football.
If I can’t take the heat of a decent debate on my football views, or if I always feel that someone else’s disgreement with my views means personal attacks on me….there is something wrong with me. I should seek counselling.

JK,
I was thinking about RVP and the progress he made since he came to Arsenal.
At the very begining I thought he was more on the selfish side, now that I look at it he just wanted to prove himself in a team full of stars like Dennis and TH14, etc.
If you look at last year, he was scoring all of his goals with his left foot. This year if you notice, he started scoring with his right as well, and also started creating more chances for his teammates instead of trying to score himself.
This is no doubt, in route of a Bergkamp like player.

To be honest, and I know it reflects on me in a bad light…I like a bit of a blogoriffic scrap from time to time, gets the frustration of work out of the system you see. I think it is the product of an excessive ‘blogging youth’ on the Comment is Free I/P blogs, makes you a bit over reactive you see. I’m trying to reform but apologise if I over react sometimes.
More importantly, interesting analysis about Walcotts leg/brain issue – I think you are very close to the truth. He does have an air of the headless chicken about him, albeit a very keen one who is excellent at football.
I was having a conversation with a United fan about Giggs recently over his improvement with age, he has long lost his ‘knock it past and sprint onto it’ tactic of past as his pace receeded but has developed into so much more of a footballer seemingly continually getting better and better, even now. I hope this is what we see as Theo develops a bit more nous. I may have been wrong to doubt him so forcefully earlier in the season.
One more thing, if you are seeking counseling still I can heartily recommend Monsieur Wenger, Emirate Stadium, N5, London. He normally cures me of all my blues!

“Avram Grant promised us sexy football, so far I haven’t seen any sign of it. And on Sunday, if we are going to see any, it is going to come from the Gunners.” — Matt Le Tissier

Read the whole article, he’s got nice things to say about Arsenal. He predicts a win for Arsenal on Sunday and downplays our loss to Boro as something less significant than the media reports claim.

Veteran,
Et tu brutus?
Am surprised by your comments on Ethan.
I noted your insulting comment on my previous post just because I aired my views on AW errors. Well, Ethan may not have the same kind of patience with guys like you when he is insulted. I think we should all focus on football and if you hate someone’s opinion so much, just ignore the post. Or better still challenge the post without insulting the contributor. Seems a more civilized way to blog.
You guys shouldn’t use Yogi’s excellent blog to insult people you have not met and would probably never meet, just because you share a common interest in Arsenal.

Ethan: I thought it was quite clear. I was talking about the injured players and Arsène’s plan on gambling with one or two of them. I wasn’t so convinced by the idea of gambling because of the hectic schedule coming up after Chelsea so I said: “I wouldn’t take gambles and play Diaby, Eboue and Diarra”. Play them instead of Cesc, Hleb and Flamini. That’s why I folowed that with: “But Flamini is supposed to be close so maybe he’ll start. After that, maybe Cesc on the bench could be an option.” I thought it was clear in its context, it’s just taken out of context that it can become confusing.
And “could of”, “should of”, etc. is not slang. It’s just bad English: http://www.wsu.edu/~brians/errors/couldof.html
I don’t want to start a war with anyone, not even with you. I would be glad to be able to talk about Arsenal as two civilized humans in spite of the disagreements. But don’t be so arrogant (coming to the blog after the first arsenal defeat just to point how right you were and how the rest were all wrong, correcting others’ spelling/grammar when yours is awful and you get offended when someone points it out, calling people Nazis -see how I learn, Flint?
- when you don’t agree with them, etc.), please, that will make things easier.
Cheers.

ethan, not everyone is a hooligan for disagreeing with you. I’m an “armchair fan” too because of distance issues. I bet there are lots of people outside North London who also don’t think that way.
Anyway, I’ve just answered you but my comment went to moderation so I’ll try to say the same without the link (which probably made wordpress think it was spam):
“Ethan: I thought it was quite clear. I was talking about the injured players and Arsène’s plan on gambling with one or two of them. Nacho
Well i didn’t come here and start abuse with anyone ! even you …
and i’m not turning this into dear danny either, and could of ,should of and would of isn’t bad English its SLANG !
Aussie slang in fact ! I KNOW ! i was there over 20 years …
Everyone can talk correctly and speak the queens English , but if you grew up in several differing country’s sometimes you pick up bad habits too!
SLANG ! and its said
SHOULDA – COULDA -WOULDA !!!!
I’m not indecipherable! its culture !
hooligan = An uncultured, aggressive, rude, noisy troublemaker. (stan- danny) Sums them up perfectly , considering i didnt start abusing them !
I was the victum ,not the Reaper !
& No flint right off the bat , was rude regarding my profession then made statements he couldn’t back up . i will say 2 wrongs don’t make a right !,and i already said i was wrong to use the word nazi on ‘him’! , as it was too stronger term , but i wouldnt have gone there if not provoked originally.
Also if you think nazi is rude it just goes down to your ignorance
NAZI= nazi. Derogatory term for a person who is fanatically dedicated to, or seeks to control of some activity (eg. this blog), practice, etc.
ITS NOT your property or right to dictate in a democratic society !
As for you steve , its a bit of a joke telling me to back down when you are doing the same .PUBLIC ABUSE – and unjustified ,I dont even know you and its all to provoke a response?! Think about it and grow up . And i will disappear about February 2nd ! Not before .
If you all remember i had strips torn off me for 1stly predicting TH14 leaving , then the concerns of arsene not signing his contract .. Which did , so henry said ‘contribute to his leaving’ ! I did also make the bold statement he would sign well before the end of his term , and yogi tore strips off me too ! And i showed my dis-satisfaction at fabrigas going to meet with REAL .. And i still feel once this seasons over they will try for him again !
So steve why will i disappear when we play well ?
My arguments are not based of those who hates his club ! Im happy we are where we are . we have always been top 4 .. Where you all expecting to be relegated ?? Geez!
Even arsene has stated many times this is the closest title race he has ever witnessed !
And why because people spent big and have gotten far better , by there imports in a short space of time !.. So who was wrong?? I wanted the club to get more high profile players and i think we still need too ! And if your all honest so do you all !
our strikers for the most still need time to mature ! (as do some people here) theres goalie issues and we need some more defensive options .. Like i said we need key players now to fill a few gaps ! .. And for that ive got stan(or what ever he calls himself today)
danny -nacho-steve -veteran- flint .. all jumping up and down ! stating ridiculous statements like
you know nothing unless you attend the games.
Id prefer the benefit of video replays ,and avoiding long cues to get home ! And ive been to highbury , but other than the atmosphere , i think you gain more from watching the game on TV, the offsides , penalties , the facial expressions the replays of tackles, if all you do is go to the game no wonder stan k krankie knows nothing about football . Other than football hooliganism
I know more than most about OUR GREAT CLUB im an easy target !
Keep it up .. it only goes to show you how immature you all are ! shame you don’t have the same passion for your club ..So the term hooligans pretty much fits the feel !
hooligan = An uncultured, aggressive, rude, noisy troublemaker.

I don’t go to matches but I still recognise it adds a LOT more than atmoshphere. You see things yo don’t see on TV, like the movement of players off the ball, the panorama of thewhole pitch, tactics, etc. Anyway I don’t think people can’t have an opinion if they only watch on TV, of course.
“Even arsene has stated many times this is the closest title race he has ever witnessed !
And why because people spent big and have gotten far better , by there imports in a short space of time !”
Arsenal finished 20 odd points behind the title winners last season. Then the title winners spent a lot of money in new players. The runners up bought too, though not that much, but they had been buying like mad in the previous years. THe third bought too. Arsenal, fourth, didn’t spend a lot, not on “high profile players” at least. Still, the one who didn’t buy any high profile players is the most improved team from last season to this one.
See the flaw in your line of reasoning?
By: Non Edible Nacho on December 14, 2007

Instead of having a big debate about the many horrendous meanings of “Nazi”. Why can’t we come up with something more productive and based on a vote system?
The are many good views here, I know it would be asking more of Yogi beside his article and managing the blog….I’m willing to help any way I can.
Nacho, I also thought we really progressed steadily from the last few games by the end of last season. Regardless of the level of importance of this SB game, we had some 17 & 18 year olds playing a CL game. If you can’t see the beauty of that and enjoying the moment, and wasting all of your time on the negative…….You’re missing a lot my friend.

Latest from London Colney at 6:30
Cesc, Hleb, Diaby,RvP and Flamini are all fit and had full training.
I expect RvP, Cesc and Flamini to play. In fact I saw both Cesc and Flamini at the stadium very fit on Wednesday night. I believe Arsene’s comments are meant to deflect attention on these players by Chelsea strategist.
All of them will be in the line-up on Sunday, ready.
