It is sometimes a tough call on what to comment on when blogging, on quiet days like today it is an even harder call. There are all sorts of key issues surrounding the clubs and you just have to decide what to cut and what to include. So do I comment on the apparent mellowing of the newspapers reportage of Jens Lehmann and his aspirations to regain the goalkeeping position in the starting XI? Not this morning, for I feel that there is an altogether more important issue to be discussed. That’s right, tucked away on Page 33 of this morning’s Sun is a story that confirms the decadence that is rife amongst Premiership footballers and sadly it is my duty to report that an Arsenal player is the culprit. It is reported that Cesc Fabregas has spent £3,000 having his chest hair permanently removed. Not waxed, permanently removed. What is the World coming to? I sincerely hope Arsene will rebuke the boy for such scandalous behaviour. One can only hope that the biblical tale of Samson does not hold true for the young man.
Brian Glanville has his own idiosyncratic view of the Chairman and Usmanov in World Soccer, describing Hill-Wood as ‘giving a convincing imitation of a weather cock’ for his flip-flopping about Kroenke, which is a pretty accurate description. The papers today report that Usmanov is buying, or trying to, the shares of those who have died, believing that the current owners may not be so averse to selling given the price is about £10k. Whatever the case, the man is hanging around like a bad smell when to be frank, it would be better if this whole scenario developed swiftly into a bid that the current owners can decide to accept or, preferably, not. There will be an argument that this would distract the players. Personally, I find that sort of reasoning to be specious. The players would not directly be impacted unless a new owner got rid of the manager or interfered in team selection, which no doubt would mean the former happening.
Bacary Sagna believes the Premiership to be more intense than Le Championnat,
This league is more engaged than the French one, it never stops. We’ve seen that with a little less effort games can go against us
Sagna has been impressive this season, aside from the Sunderland game at the weekend. In recent seasons, we have to some extent been spoiled with that position seemingly having moved through safe hands, perhaps Eboue’s latter stages there were not as accomplished as they had been but Hoyte came in and did reasonably well. It is early days of course but if he is able to shackle the better players in the same way he has done with those so far, Sagna will be quite highly placed in the Clubs Player of the Season poll.
A short one today but time to mention Spanish Fry’s enjoyable Gooner Gazette and the Perry Groves interview at Le Grove; apologies for not doing that earlier in the week chaps. Right I’m off to do the other admin that I promised but have hopelessly forgotten to do.
’til Tomorrow.

Get paid when you face the wroth.
It was a comment by most arsenal enemies after finishing a distant 4th and selling off Henry and Fredie. Cashley was optimistic for an eventual downfall and a rise at stamford bridge. Guess what, he cries like a baby each time is tackled and looks like a flog when not helped by a referee.
While at Arsenal, he found a bad man in Wenger and sought for greener pastures in Mourinho but where is Cole himself.
Stylish is Gael and find him doing it more than what Cole used to do.
Bravo, Wenger, bravo the boys. You will always win when it matters most. You have always been a winner you can see what you are reaping from the stadium.
Bendtner should only raise his game and will prove beyond cries.

Seems there is a lot bubbling around the edges of the team at the moment. With reference to Ces who really gives a hoot. Its his money he earn t it let him do what he wants with it. Seems a waste of money but so what. I am little bit concerned with the gossip about young Bendtner along with others that may think this is a time to upset a composed team. I’m sure that this may all be paper talk but sometimes where there is smoke theres fire.

Yogi, you did well on a quiet day like this man. I wouldn’t come up with a paragraph.
On Fabregas however, I think that’s a personal issue.. What’s so scandalous about removing your chest hair permanently? To some people, they do look disgusting. Fabregas, just like any other human being, should be allowed to with his body as he pleases.Even if he decides to permanently remove all his teeth, so be it!!

Hill-Wood a “weather cock” over Stanley? What’s with that English obsession with the weather?

Yep, what Cesc did was totally personal, so leave him alone. It is just another diversionary tactic by the press who conspires with others to distrupt our future performances. It will not end with Cesc. Have you ever come across such articles about MU or Chelski players? Maybe our English press is pissed off about us doing well with so few Brits. A “nationalistic paranoia”.

Apparently so. It seems sarcasm doesn’t travel well in writing.

It is one of the anguishes and pains that is suffered in the course of writing the blog. Not quite as painful as reading the Star or The Daily Mail but these things have to be done.

Chill out guys can’t you see that it just a bit of fun, if one of my mates were to permanently remove his chest hair, I’d be laughing at him for em……the rest of his or my life. I bet I’d still be laughing in the afterlife as well. Cesc may be our golden boy but surely we can laugh at him?
Keeping on the subject of hair. I hope Sagna gets his beady hair back as he now seems to lack presence. It is hard to explain, all I can think of is an old cartoon of the lion, the witch and the wardrobe when the lion got shaved and ended up looking like a skinny house cat.

I just want to switch gears to pay homage to Alexandir Hleb, our stereolegged-magician, the 2nd genius, #13! Hope all the doubters are appreciative of the footballing education he provides on the pitch. Wenger CLEARLY does!! Trying to sort out both he & Fab4 is the top reason why our opponents are losing against us. They’re resorting to trying to injure the poor guy to destabilize our midfield. So far, thank GOD, it hasn’t happened. Stereolegs13 got things started for us this season, scoring or assisting in our first 5 games, till Ade came back and everyone else fully got with the program.
I just wanted to say I appreciate and applaud thee STEREOLEGS13!! Hope the world gets to see u on th National stage at least once before u hang thy boots!

I am confident that Sagna is not Aslan or Samson in disguise, and that he’ll be back to his usual impressively high standard of play sooner rather than later.
Thinking of all things french, lets hope that Patrick Vieira makes time to pass on to Abou Diaby some of the secrets of his midfield play, whilst they’re together with the French national squad for the Euro qualifiers.
It’ll be good for Diaby’s footballing education if he can learn from the Master.

I hate the press. Fabregas is free to do what he likes with his body even if it means removing his teeth and replacing all of them with Gold coated ones. I think the press are using the international break to distabilize the team as rumours of Fabregas moving to Barca are rife and bendter’s case.
I like the way Sagna sums it all up that the EPL is a tough league. He must have looked at the replays on the Sunderland game and wished he had his braids on. May be the braids carry his little charm on the field……who knows.
Otherwise i am looking forward to Mali qualifying so that we have Adebayor back in January to lead us to the premeirship win. Iam confident of Arsenal beating Liverpool and Man U.
Go Go the Gunners!!!!!!!!!!

Morning all, well it is for me at least here in the grey of Toronto. As noted above there is not much in the way of chat to be had around the Arsenal today, no drunken antics just a foot note of the shaving activities of Cesc
I love it when the papers are short of stories, you wait there’ll be an alien encounter soon.
Anyway, I want to find out what people thought of the fine on Celtic and the suspension of Dida? I cannot say that I saw the original incident but managed to catch it various times after the event and was yesterday made aware of the ruling. I am a closet fan of Milan whilst not associated in anyway with Celtic however I find myself asking whether £25,000 (with only half payable and the rest suspended on a 2 year probation) is sufficient? I would like to clearly state that I do not condone cheating and what Dida did was uncalled for, however is not diving also cheating? Perhaps for some the parallels are not that clear but I find now-a-days that there is almost a passive acceptance towards diving. I accept that many rant about the situation but in the highest echelons of power nothing that we can actually see has been done and yet the term for diving we should be using is cheating. If players were penalised with suspensions post games the debacle of diving would become less of a problem in the game and thus cheaters would be found out for who they are.
I happen to agree that what Dida did deserved some kind of action, whether 2 games is fair or not is besides the point for me.. he cheated. As for Celtic the slap on the wrist was an insufficient fine, if the person had assaulted Dida the fine or suspension would have been much worst. The end result should not in my eyes dictate the penalty but rather that a person managed to get that close to a player and to have even touched him should have caused grave concern for the governing bodies. I appreciate that Celtic took quick action in both identifying the individual and banning him for life but how did he both invade the pitch and escape back in to the stadium.
Anyway, that is my little piece from the soap box.

Cesc can do what ever he wants with his hair esp if he hits a belter into EVS top corner come the big game, either way i aint bothered b that but whta has got me worried is this Bendtner kid???
firstly he is too much of a talker so much that if the press comes up with some makeshift statement about what he said my first thought is there he goes again, and unless he tones it down i dont see hiim being at the grove for long.
as much as Ade and Van P were apparent tear-aways before they came to the grove they have chanfged all together all i can think is Wenger hasnt had a face to face with the boy about his interviews maybe coz his jus 19!!!
Come On Mali,…MALI MALI MALI MALI MALI i think thats enough i think Ade has found his feet and not to eager to lose him to the ANC,if he doesnt go then its only a loss of Kolo,Eboue and Song…i think we can survive

What is happening with Arsenal hair this season? First, it was Almunia with a blonde type fix which Cesc didn’t like at all. Next up is Sagna with the critical eliminations of what was his trade mark ( i hated that hair from the begining and wished we dont sign him- But my bad), Now it is back with permanently removing hair from a chest of a young spaniard. i feel there is a problem with hair at the grove. Did they talk to Cygan? At least he was hairless!! .
Or may be we are going to see Jens back without hair on his head?!!

Guys (and girls),
Let me spell this out for you… The Cesc piece is meant to be sarcastic… The writer is not serious and only pointing how ridiculous the story is anyway.
Don’t take the interweb so literally…
Go gunners! (when will this damn international break end already)

Togo lost to Mali 0:2…….Adebayor not going to ANC. All strikers remain. Young Bendtner’s gotto work harder, talk less & wait for his chance to shine!
Is arrogance an inherent character trait in youngsters named Nicholas?????

Interesting how many people didn’t get that joke. It’s why the internet will never replace the pub. Some things don’t translate in print. I’m delighted Ade’s sticking around. I have him backed to score 20 this season!

Whilst’s it good for Arsenal that Adebayor will be around in January/February 2008, as a result of Togo not qualifying for the ACON, it’s bad news for the player himself.
Let’s hope that he doesn’t go through a depressive phrase/period of bad form, as a result of his Country not qualifying for the tournament.
We shall have to wait and see what, if anything, this means for Bendtners’ chances of getting more games in January/February 2008.
I presume most Arsenal fans thought that during Adebayors’ absence at the ACON, Bendtner would be given an extended run in the first team, alongside RVP or Eduardo.
Now that Adebayor is going to be around, it’ll be interesting to see how Arsene tackles this matter.
Will he simply rest Adebayor and/or RVP at certain points in the premiership, in order to give Bendtner (and Eduardo too) more playing time?
I’m not particularly bothered about losing Eboue to the ACON, and don’t really see that as a loss, whereas losing Toure is a loss, but we at least have a reasonable degree of cover for him in Gallas, Senderos, Djourou, Gilberto and Song (assuming Song isn’t going to be called up by Cameroon for the ACON too).

Re Bendtner … While it appears he is whinging somewhat anyone who plays football should understand that sitting on the bench is one of the worse things (probably after a long term injury). I still reckon it is better to be playing in any team rather on the bench for the best team.
Up the Arse! C’mon Arsenal!!
